ISU getting another transfer. ex USC PG Maurice Jones

ISU is definitely becoming a home for misfits and miscreants. Hoiberg's running some sort of halfway house in Ames. Heck with calling him the Mayor, I think he should be known as the Pastor.

Any time you can pick up an academically ineligible 5'7 guard who shot 33% from the field on the worst Pac-12 team in the entire history of the conference, you have to do it. At least ISU fans will have another midget to overhype now that Tavon Sledge is gone.

According to Twitter, he wasn't released for academic issues.

Because everything on Twitter is true...lol

He has been declared academically ineligible and USC thought he was going to be back with them next year...I smell tampering...hahahahaha

Look, it shouldn't really be surprising, ISU is making headway in Michigan with this kid, but also they have a highy rated PG from Flint coming in, Clyburn is originally from Michigan and they have Percy Gibson, Dorsey-Walker and interest from others.

You mad bro?

They don't get in trouble in Ames at all. And Hoiberg has shown he can recruit high schoolers too.... You definitely mad.

The admins gave him a strict set of rules that were rediculous for a man his age and it was a stupid situation in the first place. Fran was mad they forced him to go.

I just don't think you can throw stones at ISU taking "questionable" transfers when Iowa takes in someone like Hubbard, regardless of why he left.

I don't throw stones at ISU, I don't think it is the best way to build a program, but Fred is actually recruiting freshman that can play as well. Unlike some coaches who have gotten caught up in bringing in transfers. There is a point where relying too much on transfers back fires...look at Cincy when Huggins left and how long it has taken them to recover from going to TransferU to not looking at them.

The fact that he was academically ineligible doesn't bother me, I think he's "questionable" because he's 5'7 and shot 33% for possibly the worst power conference team ever last year.

It isn't about taking a chance on ONE kid, as every program does that. It is that ISU has taken what 7 or 8 of them......big difference.

He also put up very big numbers the previous year as a FR when USC went to the tourney. This guy is legit but you will only face him once, in December of 2014 because he won't be eligible when we face you in Hilton next December.

He's a legit volume scoring 5'7 point guard, I'll give you that. He's also one of the least efficient guards in all of college basketball.
