Is it bad?

I think they'll want to win the basketball game because they want to compete in the NCAA basketball tournament competition.

Two comments. One, who cares about UNI? If ISU is our little brother, then UNI is our little sister who lives out of state with your divorced mom, and you only see him twice a year on holidays.

Two, what kind of person is still butt hurt over officiating in a game a year ago?

1) I was thinking Oliver, from the Brady Bunch.

2) Some people still can't get over this guy (name rhymes with Grim Pain). :)

Because that little sister who lives out of state with my divorced mom got away with one, but thinks they really are better than us now.

I'd like to shut her up this year with a solid win.

Those complaining again about the big bad refs hurting the poor little Hawks....you are being homers.. Watch the video with this in mind. One team was better prepared on fundamentals which includes hand and foot position. Guess which one that is? When things start getting chippy with the coaches, then the game breaks down. Most of what I see on the video...not all is about fundamentals. Later the game calling gets silly, but Iowa has to clear that up.

Uh oh. Another analyst in our midst. Does Iowa or UNI send you the game tape?

About 8-minute mark, crappy call and Fran goes after zebra at the scorer's table! Get's T'd, tossed and CFPD has to escort him out. 2-words ... AWE SOME!

Fran's got your 6!

No, it's not awsome. It's bad behavior and doesn't make refs change their behavior except for maybe getting worse. I do agree that the call was wrong on that play. However, there were plenty of calls that were technically correct.

As for the earlier comment about getting tapes, maybe you should try learning basketball fundamentals. Also, I am sure growler fans could put together a tape of "bad" calls gone the other way.

So part of basketball fundamentals is getting tape from schools?

You can act like you know what you're talking about all you want. Doesn't change the fact the refs were completely one-sided in the match-up. Iowa had a whopping 9 free throw attempts in the game. UNI had 33! You can talk about fundamentals all you want, but a stat that lopsided is ridiculous. UNI won the game because they made 29 of 33 free throw attempts. Which they deserve a lot of credit for. That's impressive. Iowa only made 3 of 9. Fouls played a huge role. You are either a biased UNI fan or an idiot if you aren't willing to admit that.

A stat that lopsided isn't always ridiculous. I don't remember the game at all and probley didn't watch the whole thing, but there are plenty of times where that stat is legit. The Wisconsin game last year. Same thing happened, but the opposite. They hoisted up about 30 treys and weren't in position to ever get to the line.

Whether this game was like that or not, I don't know. Partly because I don't remember and partly because I am not willing to go look up the "video" to re-watch and analyze something for which I have no control over - oh, and it's over and going to look at the "video" matters not.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Maybe a difference of 10-15 fouls isn't all that crazy, but when there is a difference of 24 fouls I think that's incredibly one-sided.

So if one team is coached to have hands to the side or swipe at the ball from inside out and the other swipes in at the ball and has hands flailing, you would expect calls to be even? That would be poor officiating. Having feet planted and having hands down as opposed to maybe having feet planted but hands flailing is equal? Don't think so.

UNI took Iowa to school on fundamentals that game. Get over it.

There was only a 10 foul difference. There was a 24 free throw difference. 10 foul difference favoring the home team isn't that bad especially when there was a 2 technical foul difference.

Another big difference was 3 point shooting. Iowa 1-12, UNI 11-21, that's 30 points. So stop crying about the fouls and free throws difference and move on. It wouldn't have matter at the end of the season, it didn't prevent Iowa from getting into the NCAA Tournament. I don't hear Iowa fans complaining about the fact that in games played at CHA Iowa usually makes more free throws than the opponents attempt.

As long as the refs are letting you get away with blatant flop after blatent flop, you might as well accept them. I would imagine the team remembers very well the joy UNI players and fans expressed.......

Absolutely the worst referring I have ever seen in many years of avidly watching basketball.....
