Iowa's Path to a NY6 Game

STOP TALKING NONSENSE, SETH. With advances in medical technology, I'm sure you'll live long enough to see Brian Ferentz luck into another easy schedule with a semi-decent team and his O-Coordinator, James Ferentz, will call a great game in Indy and Iowa will make the playoff. And then lose by 69 points.
I thought the same thing in 1987 while watching the UNLV meltdown.

"Stop being such a baby Seth. You're only 29 (at the time). LOTS of time to see another Hawkeye BB team make it to the Final Four."

Nope.

Ugh. I hear ya. My wife actually made me go to the Rose Bowl. How pathetic is that? I was so in the dumps about Indy, I didn’t even wanna go to Pasadena. Apparently the Hawks felt the same.

That game in Indy is a scar that isn’t fading
I really am a positive guy....glass has always been half full.

But man oh man....I was *all in* for that 2015 team. And I was horribly dumbstruck when we lost. Dazed.

Then I hear everybody running around giddy about "the rose bowl...the rose bowl." F. Dumbass consolation prize. There was no way I was running that gauntlet to see that game...not after being in Indy.

Bartender....line me up another round please.

Well, at least we made the one in 2013. If we had shot better, I think we could have taken Baylor down for the title.

Jeez, look at you whine...at least you're old enough to remember Iowa being in the Final Four. I was 7 when they went to the Final Four in 1980 and I really don't remember it very much.

That's true. I was in my 3rd year at Iowa when we beat G'Town. Fantastic stuff. We all huddled around the 20" color TV, eating real Lays potato chips/w dip and drinking Old Style on Nevada street in Iowa City.

But FB is my first true love and I sat through miserable years of Iowa FB until Fry came along.

Once, just once, I wanted to watch Iowa go to the CFP. And I would have forever tolerated the Pinstripe Bowls of the world.

In 15, we left it all in the field in Indy. You have to be proud of them for that. I was and still am.

In the Rose Bowl, the difference was Christian McCaffery. He is a generational talent. We have always struggled against those kinds of players because of our style of play on defense. If you look who has ran over it has been Saquon and McCaffery, and now Taylor. I think it is fair to say that Taylor will be a an elite NFL running back as well. Sometimes teams just have better talent.

Was one of the hardest fought games I have ever witnessed! That loss was such a heartbreaker.
