Iowa's management of this fiasco has been terrible

And I really hope that Robinson's suspension has nothing to do with drugs. My son idolizes him, he was upset to hear about DJK, but I am pretty sure it would crush him if that is the case. And if he wasn't suspended for anything to do with that, I wish that could have been conveyed today, because it's making him look guilty even if it has nothing to do with that.
Your son should not be idolizing Adam Robinson. These are young men that make mistakes. Let me know if you want to know who your son should be idolizing.

Its cool I'll let him know for you. It's clicheusername3. One of the finest internet message board posters in Iowa, and just by default through low literacy rates and low scores on standardized writing tests Missouri and Nebraska as well.

If the rumors are true, then it's going to be one big you know what storm for the next several years. If they are not true, then the Iowa athletic department has done a **** poor job of getting out in front of this story and stopping all of the rumors and innuendo.

The rumors have gone national now, on ESPN the comments under the story have people saying over 20 players are going to be suspended, the Hawks are all a bunch of drug users, etc. If there is nothing to this story, how can Camp Kinnick we lagging so far behind this and not coming out and stating that all of this is false? The university and this teams image is being destroyed right in front of my eyes, and it doesn't seem like anyone is doing anything about it?

I guess it boils down to either way, if everything I have heard is true or if it is all lies, heads should be rolling in the football staff.
Right, because it makes so much sense to try to deny a false rumor. You are delusional if you think that the athletic department is going to respond to this chat. It's not their job to please you people who want to know details about things that are none of your business. Go root for another team in utopialand where the players never get in trouble.

How does that not make sense? Unless you're a little b!tch then you should at least have enough pride in your program and team to come out and defend yourself.

That's what I'm saying anyone is that doesn't stand up for themselves when they are the subject of false rumors.

KF: Thanks for coming. I'm holding this press conference today to let everyone know that the internet rumors about us suspending 10 players for drug use are false. I'll now take questions.

USA Today: Coach, uhhh, what rumors?

KF: You know, the rumors about our players being on drugs.

SI: Your players are on drugs?

USA Today: And you're not suspending them???

CNN: What the hell kind of program are you running?

KF: Now hold on. I said our players are NOT on drugs.

SI: Then why would you suspend them?

KF: We're not.

CNN: Then why on earth am I in Iowa City? It's frickin cold!

KF: Cuz I'm a man and I stand up to rumors!

"Do people NOT understand how much of a non-story this is outside of the state of Iowa and outside the internet message board world???"

Yeah, good thing its not out there or they would be pulling the bets at major sites.

It's really not that unusual. Lines like this get pulled when any sort of speculation is going on. KF announced the loss of two RB's yesterday. That's enough to cause a stir in the gambling world. I'm sure there was above normal money going towards Missouri and Vegas pulled it to see what was up.

Listen, don't take my word for it. Call someone you know that lives outside the state of Iowa and doesn't frequent the message boards. Ask them simply, "have you heard about anything going on with the Iowa football program?" If they are an Iowa fan, they will probably know that DJK got busted and that Hampton is gone and that Robinson is on the shelf. They won't know anything about 10 players being suspended or 20 players failing drug tests or anything else.

Oh I totally agree it's been the Iowa fan base that has blown this thing up. I don't think I have ever been more disapointed of people who call themselves Hawkeye fans. It seems like several people on here today were let down that only one player was being suspended, as if they were excited to think it would be more than that.

Yet I don't think the staff can sit back and pretend that none of this talk is going on. I do hope tomorrow morning clears everything up, I guess maybe I am just impatient by nature and want this all to be cleared up and be over with. When I have friends around the country texting me to ask if I am going to IC to fire up blunts with the Hawkeyes, it kind of upsets me. Especially when I have always touted the way our program is ran by Ferentz and Co. to them.

I think "let's have a session outside of Hillcrest" posted on the wall of Hamptom's face book had more to do with the texts you are getting then hawkeye fans.

Of course, that could mean "study session".... I hope we hear some good stuff today, and am also anxious to get this behind us so we can focus on the bowl game and next year.
