Iowa's Biggest Rival: Interesting poll results

ISU is the chihuahua biting at our ankles all the time. A constant annoyance but easily dismissed.
Wisconsin is the big dog next door. Everytime we've gone at each other it's been one hell of a fight.
Nebraska is the new neighbor dog across the street. We are both standing at the curb snarling and sizing each other up. We know the moment on of us flinches, the brawl will be on and it will be fantastic.

you clown fans do realize that the only reason we are arguing with you about who are biggest rivals are is because you guys are here arguing your points. if michigan state fans were here, we'd argue with them. so by your logic, since we are defending our stance, they are our biggest rival.

going into a season, who do iowa fans talk about being on their schedule? i guarantee you the iowa state game isn't even mentioned for a while. who do iowa state fans talk about? i guarantee you the first game they mention is iowa.

sorry little sister, you guys ARE NOT that big of a deal to iowa fans, iowa's players, iowa's coaches, or the state of iowa in general

I'm not going to argue "rivals", as its an ethereal quality that is hard to quantify.

But I have posted how ISU fits into the hierarchy of "most excited crowd for tailgating and Kinnick".

I would say that OSU, PSU, UM, Wisky, and maybe MSU all have more electric atmospheres for the game (and Nebraska will certainly join this list). ISU does provide a better atmosphere than the rest of the B10, including NW, MN, IL, PU, and IU. NW may pass ISU if they continue to kick our arses.

For non-conf games, I would say none of the recent ones compared to ISU. Pitt/Ariz and the like are solid games but are not electrifying for the fanbase.

You can look at KF's record against ISU for proof of that.

Posts #152, #153, and #154 do little to convince me that Iowa fans don't care about ISU.

Wow.

You do realize there are about 150+ others in which we make it pretty sure that we don't care about ISU that you happened to look over.

Jon Miller talks all the time about the Jihadic Wing of the Iowa fanbase. Just pointing out the jihadists when I see them.

I know that not all of you are like that, just as not all ISU fans are like that.

Now:
1. Iowa State
2. Wisconsin
3. A bunch tied

After we play Nebraska once
1a. Iowa State
1b. Nebraska
3. Wisconsin
4. Everyone else

You are giving Iowa State far too much credit as the program you love to loathe. The Fuskers are a clear front-runner, followed by Wisconsin, Ohio State, Northwestern, then the Clowns.

For me, when we beat the Clones, I don't get nearly as excited as I do when we beat Wisky, or most other conference rivals for that matter. We are expected to win, no big deal. But when we lose to the clones, they are by far and away the team I loathe the most, because we have to work with these idiots every day who brag about it, even if they end the season 4-8. "At least we beat the Hawks!" What a bunch of losers.

Personally I'm shocked that cyclone17 is trying to tell hawk fans they're wrong about their opinion. Give it up...outside of one meaningless game in the fall... No one cares.

Just a thought Jon that might help inflate Wisky's numbers in the Gazette poll is the fact that we've had a couple BB recruits from the immediate CR area buzz up to Madison to play hoops and that still rubs some Hawkeye faithful the wrong way even though we are talking football and not basketball...

That is a Steve Deace label, a Deacism if you will. Lunatic fringe is Jon's counter, comeback and/or rebuttal.
