Iowa worst team in Big Ten?

That is a product of a weak defense. Grinnell could probably be the highest scoring offense in the Big Ten.

sure, doesn't make it not true - and it's a squad with it's core of players all being underclassman with huge upsides that have got better and better at D as the seasons progressed.

Saying talent is kinda pointless. OSU is one of the most talented teams in the conference every year and it doesn't do them much good. We have Jok, Cook, and Pemsl. Those 3 are probably in the top 5 when comparing to other top 3s. Baer hurts us when comparing talent, but he is probably a top 5 6th man in the conference.

Bingo.

OSU & ILL are prime examples of teams that have had a lot of "talent" in terms of recruiting rankings, but not a ton of success.

Wisconsin is an example of a team who historically doesn't have a ton of "talent" in terms of recruiting rankings, but has had a ton of success.

And I am sorry - but Iowa didn't have top 5 B1G talent the last 3 seasons, and they some how managed to place there any ways.

I think if we could somehow start the season over right now, we would have 2 or 3 losses at this point and everyone would assume we are a tournament team. The point of saying that is we are playing like one right now. If we play just like we are now the rest of the season, we will finish around 9-9 and miss the tourney by a couple games. If we are a better team with Cook and we improve as the year goes on, we might still make it.

That would mean Uthoff, Woody, Clemmons, and Gesell are more talented than Cook, Pemsl, Moss, and Bohannon. They would actually have to be a lot more talented to make up for all the other guys who have one year more experience.

BS - Cook is as talented of player as Iowa has had in decades. U are confusing talent with development.

No he's not and he's not even close if you talk about complete game including defense. Why don't you just list the top teams in the Big Ten according to talent instead of dodging the question

Yes. All 4 of those guys were very good defenders and Uthoff was a consensus All American

cause i don't give a crap? I'm not dodging the question - i honestly am not going to put effort into a pointless argument.

which is pretty sweet huh? the fact that he's probably not in the top 5 and off to such a great start bodes well for the future.

He's been pretty bad this season actually. 3rd worst offensive rating on the team and one of the worst defenders and you think he's off to a great start. Haha man you set the bar low

and Iowa hasn't had one of the top 5 most talented classes in the B1G in the last 3 seasons, it hasn't mattered because Fran has proven he can develop the players he gets into a good program. He's going to do the same with this group.

Top 5 in the B1G in assist as a freshman so far - playing pretty well for a kid who just got thrust in minutes.
