Mary Angie Lee, the University of Iowa's women's basketball coach who was accused of chest-bumping a Connecticut state trooper at Bradley International Airport last Nov. 26, was granted a special form of probation yesterday.
A Superior Court judge in Enfield, Conn., granted Lee, 35, accelerated rehabilitation on a charge of breach of peace. The charge will be erased as long as she remains out of trouble.
Lee got into an argument with the police at the airport just hours after Iowa lost to Connecticut. The argument occurred after the police asked the team to hurry off a bus that was parked in front of a terminal, in an area not designated for loading.
Lee chest-bumped a trooper who was trying to calm her and determine what the problem was, the police said. Iowa athletic officials said that Lee was defending a team manager and that an officer who asked the team to get off the bus had been rude.
That is interesting Joker.....I never recall every hearing of that incident. I got to think there would be more to it if she was asked to resign over that....but who knows. I do remember her looking extremely frustrated in her last couple of seasons during press conference, games, etc. But, perhaps that was enough to say hit the road.
There were some that had issue with her "lifestyle". There were rumors about her behavior around certain female athletes, not sure what was true and what wasn't.
Lol, when I read this I thought "chest bump" meant horizontally instead of vertically. But I guess after reading on, Coach Lee would not be interested in that type of situation. My bad.Angie chest bumped a security guard and then was asked to leave the program.
Or have change illegally in most states.I see. Times then were not quite as accepting as now......at least how things have changed legally in some states.
