IOWA-WISCONSIN ON FOX - 7:30 PM CENTRAL TIME

I like it. I thought about going to Kinnick if it was earlier, but I think I will just stay home, watch other college football games all day, "tailgate" in my own living room, and crawl to bed with a fresh Wisky upset on my mind and whiskey remnants on my breath.

I've got no big trees and I bought in a neighborhood with buried utilities so I wouldn't get shut off in a 'cane or after an ice storm. I'm pretty far inland (over 200 miles from the ocean) and am just worried about flooding. The evacuation centers for the people out on the shore are near me. My house is 910 feet above sea level.

Sounds like you planned very well.....

You might be as safe as anyone in DM after Florence hits the shore.....

Yeah, my aunt and uncle moved out here 15 years ago and they told me to buy a place with buried lines. They said there is an ice storm every few years and people will go 5-10 days without power after storms pull trees down onto secondary lines, but if you got buried lines you're fine because the big ass lines ain't coming down unless it's the end of days. I don't know if I should trust their judgment because they live right by the Duke nuclear plant and they got iodine pills delivered to them with a letter that said if there's ever a meltdown Duke will issue a statement to take the pills.

OKeefe do you live down here?

I've been in Greensboro for 20 years. We have worse summer storms than what happens when hurricanes hit the coast.

Um, hey big dog, not sure if you've seen the latest Euro rainfall model. This thing took a big turn and I'm looking all clear, but check this thing out:

If I'm not mistaken, Greensboro looks like it's fixin' to get between 15 and 20 inches. That ain't a normal storm, bud. Please begin preparations with all due haste, my man.

You might get some wind, then, but with no big trees, you should be fine. BTW, underground utilities aren't fail-proof :)

The big pain will be the evacuation process. Traffic gonna suck for the next week or so.
