Read my lips: The officials did not cost Iowa the game. Failure to do anything right defensively, offensively (save Weisman) and on special teams lost Iowa this game.

This was a frustrating game in many, many ways. The defense didn't show up in the first half, and I still don't know what happened in the last two minutes of the game. Vandenberg looked a little better, but nowhere near the home field version we saw last year. Tons of costly penalties really shot us in the foot as well. I don't recall us ever committing that many personal fouls. I wasn't a fan of the officiating today, but they aren't the reason we lost. As someone said earlier we should be able to beat CMU regardless of the quality of officiating. CMU will likely make a lower tier bowl, but we still should have cruised in this one. I will say that this coaching staff is extremely disappointing.
