Iowa v Indiana Predictions

Got a few days to go till conference play starts. Who's willing to go on record with predictions for this game?

I know sportstalent is predicting a victory. I'm going on record in predicting a loss, leaning towards a 10+ point loss.

I just don't think this team is ready, and fear that it could get ugly fast if the Hawks get down early. We'll find out what the freshmen are made of, that's for sure.

Indiana 78 - Iowa 65

While I would love to see my Hawks win, I just don't see it happening. Will gladly admit I was wrong if that turns out to be the case. I'm also predicting that if Iowa loses, people over here will just go crazy, and I guess I'll just never understand those people who expect a young team to upset a ranked team.

I think Iowa loses by seven. 73 - 66

I am hoping for a win and think Iowa could pull one out but they need to start fast. If they win I think it would be something like 78 - 70. And Marble will need to get at least 20.

We can win IF we have a decent shooting game from outside. Just cannot afford to have another game of 0-17 or 1-12 etc. from behind the arc. I'm guessing Indy uses zone a lot and sees how we're shooting it. If the Hawks get hot from 3 Land I think we pull off the upset in front of a raucous CHA crowd 79-74, if we suck it up from 3 land we probably lose by 8-12.

I am so ready for BIG season to start, been an awfully boring sports week and the bowls don't even interest me much this year.

Can’t see anything other than a close game. Comes down to how well we play down the stretch. I’ll say Indiana by 3 or 4.

Iowa 75 Indiana 73.

A battle. This is Frans signature win that announces "WE ARE BACK!"
The freshmen step up and score 25. Basabe plays a huge role. Oglesby makes a few 3s. Marble scores 20. White adds 15.

Im really excited for this one.

I'm gonna be like Gerry DeNardo and just give a key to the game, rather than my prediction.
Home court has been big for the Hawks the past couple seasons (in general, historically as well). If CHA can get a raucous crowd, and we get going early it could be a nice ending for the Fighting Herkys. If the crowd isn't there or we go down big early, it will be a long night and likely an easy win for the whosiers.
