Nice article. Goes a long way(just part mind you) in saying what kind of a kid was. Knowing what we all know now may make us feel better, while at the same time, "feel" for him. We will miss his points from those 3 finals he made, but if there isnt a better kind of leader for kids/teamates to look up to, then I cant think of it. Wrestling is all about fighting through tough spots, through adversity. Matt did that all year long in a way that most of us cant even imagine.
It wont be hard for me to remember him in a good way.
With that said, knowing what happened, and I guess knowing beforehand that a title wasnt very realistic, I was still hoping for him that he could get past the round of 12 so he could get that rare 4time all-american status. He deserved it. The whole world knows it.
Great article. Thanks for posting Pin. It's safe to say that we will all miss him and appreciate all he's done for the black n gold. True class act on the mat and, more importantly, in the class room. Thank you and good luck, Matt.
