IOWA PWNS PURDUE GAME THREAD

This Iowa squad is talented and deep. And mentally tough.

I believe we will win almost every game where we shoot well.

Fran...the man.
 
These guys are just fun to watch & they play so well together. Woodbury looked like a guy on a mission today........good emotional leadership for the team.
 
Every team ahead of iowa in the rankings have now lost except for UNC who is playing right now. Would say that iowa has to be in the top 5 tomorrow for sure. Possibly as high as 3rd?

The players (which includes Iowa AND Purdue) were visibly frustrated with the officiating.

So what are you asking? Do I think they're mad at the officiating now when they're in the locker room enjoying the win? Hell no, but they were certainly not happy during the game.

I'd have to say so. 3-4 depending on OU but doubt they fall far after losing @ISU.. That won't be considered a bad loss. So I'll go with 4th. Either way... It'll be the highest ranked iowa team since 1989, who also reached #4.

Than Fran needs to coach them up more, because I can tell you at this level if players are frustrated with officiating they are weak. I didn't see any of that weakness today or at any point really this season! Iowa is a very strong team and IMO very mentally strong.. So I will differ with that assessment that Iowa was visibly frustrated with the officiating..
 
Did anyone else see CJ Beathard in the crowd shot in the second half at the timeout during the Iowa run?
 
Gutty effort today. Purdue played very aggressive defense today and Iowa struggled at times. FT's were a chore as well. Gonna be a tough game Thursday.

The first bad game Gesell has and we crucify him on this board. It's truly funny 'cause without him we're not 7-0 in the BIG.
Keep at it, though. It makes me giggle. Sheesh. By the way, Bohannon's good but not ready to lead Fran's offense at point. Easy.

Yeah. That's not good. But our two PGs I don't think have never been 77% FT shooters -- especially at the end of games.

As a comparison, however, Sparty shot 12-21 from FT line and lost at home to Nebby. So it says a lot about Iowa to have that bad of a stat line and win by double-digits against a top 25 team -- again.
