The '08 team also had 25-ish eventual NFL players or players that were drafted/signed free agent contracts. They were just young. No one knows what will happen from game to game, this season. The only thing Iowa has proved this season is that they can win or lose against any level of competition on their schedule. Iowa lost at home to the best team on their schedule, to date and have beaten the 3 weakest teams.

I think this was proven well before this season started and has been a legitimate criticism of the Iowa program over the years, and rightfully so.

LSU would not beat Iowa by 30. Their offense is every bit as as impotent as Iowa's.

Well, they finally made a move in an attempt to correct that. Other than the actually talent level, LSU and Iowa have been relative mirror images of each other when it comes to coaching philosophies, style of play, fan perspectives. I work with a guy who is from Baton Rouge and he sounded like an Iowa fan with his criticisms of LSU (Les Miles). He's been saying for the past couple of years "Defense is fine; we need to get more talent on offense."
