Iowa is going to get TRUCKED by Wisconsin

Same team that struggled to win against Georgia St. Don't get me wrong Wisconsin has had two big wins, but they will lose their next two against Mich and OSU.

The hawks need to work on their tackling and driving through runners rather than diving a leaving their feet. I think they need to be more of a power straight ahead running team with Daniels and a little more stretch and sweep running with Wadley meaning find their best blocking plays that work.

Once the running game is working then they need to go deep once in awhile to move the safeties back

Their punter is going to Peterbuilt right through for a game winning 1st down.

Oh wait, the Iowa staff has film on that and will adjust....right?

In the first 4 games this year Iowa has given up a combined 54 points. That is actually down from last year when they gave up 71 in the first 4 against competition of similar quality. So where it counts most the defense has improved, along with the special teams. Even with that Iowa only gave up 6 to them last year. I definitely don't ser Iowa giving up a lot of points this year either.
You can thank a horrible iowa state team for part of this

Really one thing Iowa can realistically hope for is to have clement out for that game like last year. I'm not routing for him to get hurt, I just think he's going to take a pounding against mich and osi

I will wait to judge how magnificent the badgers are until they actually play somebody like Michigan. If they win that game then I'll make sure I have an abundance of nausea pills on hand when they play the Hawks. Just my opinion but I really think LSU and MSU are really trending downward. MSU lost a big piece of their puzzle when Narduzzi left and will plummet back to earth. The badgers are taking advantage of a lot of turnovers and are looking good with their new QB who wears shoulder pads like Green Bays QB. Will see how he reacts going up against a very good defense.

Take a look at what just happened at LSU. Team has no heart.
And looks like Notre Dame is in a free-fall, so that mitigates MSU's win, thus tarnishing Wisky's win. ;)

Our DL is not being aggressive. They aren't getting a good jump off the snap and the OL is getting into them lower. I'm really surprised that teams can attack us in the middle with Jaleel and Nathan. These guys were tree stumps last year. I will tell you, our DE's aren't making alot of plays in the run game either. M. Nelson's lateral quickness is questionable and Hesse is now starting to look like Hesse. Nate Meier made plays and had some speed to the ball...even inside. That being said, on a few of their good runs Nathan B was held in a big way...and it was right in the hole. Some really poor officiating.
You are correct again........

The way the hawks play defense many times Jewell the middle lbkr is the only one in the middle. Opponents have 4 wideouts sometimes or 3 wideouts and one in motion and take two or the hawk lbkrs out of the front 7 then the opponent runs the ball with an option for the QB to keep it. It is 5 Off linemen vs 5 tacklers with an option.

hard to stop. It is basically what NDSU did on their big QB draw on their last drive and many times in that game.

Yeah, it's the "smashmouth spread power inerted veer" (google god's play power run) and scroll to the bottom. Basically a counter power run dt the DT and kick out the end. Perfect description of it was this (and refrences NDSU which was where I first noticed it) -

"What really stands out from their usage of the play is how they'll run it to the weakside, and their insistence on actually kicking out the DE. They won't try to wrap around and seal the EMOL, they're looking to bash skulls and run the ball down mainstreet. Many of their best runs end up looking like a big moving pile with the RB finding an opening five yards down the field and exploding out of it for a huge gain."

In light of the Vandeberg situation, I'm going to bump this until Brian Ferentz sees it. Time to diversify the offense and spread the ball around to be more unpredictable.

You probably thought that in 08, Penn St would run us over to. They where top 5 and we where 5-4 and had lost to Illinoy. Remember we beat them right? Chill out and let them play the damn game. Nobody thought NDSU would beat us either. There is a reason we play the game on the field rather then on paper.

You know it is funny we have 3 of last year's 4 starters back. Lets just call Hesse a starter from last year because he played way more than Ott did. And we have 2 of the 3 same linebackers back with the new guy being one that was a former starter and 3 of the 4 in the D backfield. How can a defense with that many guys back all the sudden just fall apart?

Agree they will get pounded in these next two games. Hopefully brutally. Freshman QB gonna see stuff he ain't never seen before.

Why are you yelling?

and they will be tired and beat up after playing OSU & Mich back to back

I think any one would be worn out after OSU and Michigan in back to back weeks. That's a game where we need to establish the run game and get time of possession in our favor and get them sucking wind in the second half.
