Iowa/Iowa State Predictions

I said 30-13 before both games and I'll stick with that. I think it will be close at half (something like 17-7) and Iowa pulls away late.

But this game always scares me. As long as we hold onto the ball we should be ok, though.

Hawks 27
Clones 23

Defense has a great goal line stand late in the fourth to preserve the "W".

31-16 Iowa.

But within a score going into the final quarter...a late Iowa TD makes it look worse that it was. ISU has 3 FG's and one TD to reach 16.

37-10 Hawks. Iowa comes out and bashes away at the D early with a steady dose of Hampton, Robinson, and Reisner. Still keeping the deep ball in the pocket, the WRs mostly factor in the short passing game. There's a ST or D touchdown and Ricky turns in another clean sheet, no picks. Arnaud and Robinson get frustrated trying to run it on our front seven, prompting two Arnaud picks late, one to seal the game.

27-17. A game similar to 2008. Close going into the 4th but the Hawks control the game at the end

I'd be shocked if Iowa gives up 23 points. I think ISU has two ways to win this game:

1. Turn it into a track meet and wear out the Iowa defense.
2. Create turnovers and turn those turnovers into points.

Barring a total collapse and/or lack of preparation, I think #1 is highly unlikely, as I can't remember the last "track meet" type game Iowa was involved in.

I'm not going to say what the score will be, because nobody has any idea how the game will play out. That being said, if Iowa plays the way they're capable of and doesn't turn it over, there's no reason for them not to win by 10-15 points.

41-10 in favor of the hawkeyes

slingin dick- 19-25 for 262 and 3 td's

jewel- 18 carries for 143 and 2 td's3

2 field goals by the kicking committee

Iowa - 38
ISU - 6

No ISU td streak continues
Jewel/Robinson combine for 175+
Clayborn - 3 sacks

Iowa 28
ISU 13

Iowa jumps out to a 14-3 lead at the half and then they let their guard down and ISU finally finds the endzone.

I can't see us blowing them out for a second straight year under Rhodes. I think the clones keep it fairly close. Hawks 27-17 winners. 2-0 and on to Arizona!
