Iowa has a legit shot running the table going into championship week.
Yea, that is a horrible match-up for Iowa. But, let's be honest, that'd be on hell of a game to watch with clashing styles. I'd like to see what Phil Parker would come up with. Hopefully James Hardy wouldn't kill us again.I hope we win out obviously, but I fear that winning out would cause us to draw Indiana in championship week and I don't like that matchup. On the other hand, this is the best Iowa team in 35 years and I can't imagine we'd lose to Indiana.

I will probably have to pee about a dozen times Friday morning before the Nebraska game. Per usual.
Freak Indiana....we want the Buckeyes. Come on Northwestern, do the conference a favor and stumble big time.
You know, I will say, this is one hell of accomplishment all things considered. I thought, like I'm sure many felt, this season was over after the 2nd game. This program looked like it had given up, looked lost, looked like it might not never recover from the racism troubles. And, give the coaches and team a hell of a lot of credit. Whatever was said, whatever they have been doing, not only did they turn the season around, they look like one of the best teams in the Big Ten and the country. They are blowing the doors off the competition. Say what you want about who they have played, but in recent years a blow out of MSU, a blow out at Penn St, and a blowout win against Minny coming off a great season for them last year, pretty damn impressive.
Iowa is better than:
Penn St
Michigan St
Minnesota
Michigan
Everyone of these teams are looking up at Iowa.
This is Ferentz's MO when it call comes down to it. We have seen this act time and time again. But, this might be shaping up to be one of his best coaching jobs ever. If they get the QB playing at or above an average level consistently, watch out. Iowa has a legit shot running the table going into championship week.
With a shit ton of luck....and it is 2020 so who knows....maybe Northwestern can lose out or get hit with the bug (not that we wish that on anyone). Because, honestly, would you rather see Ohio St vs Northwestern....or Ohio St vs Iowa for the title?
Yes, it is asking a lot, but it is 2020....hopefully they crash and burn.Unfortunately with jNW beating Iowa they basically have a 2.5 game lead on us and they would have to lose out and we would have to win out.
jNW has Mich St, Minn, and Illini to end the season and they could lose to any of those teams or two but I doubt all three since they have a really good defense and a 5th year really good QB. They will Ferentz those teams to death by playing tough D, get some turnovers and a lead, and then run the ball and move a few chains and then punt, then repeat.
If Mich St plays like week 2 they can beat Fitzy, if Minnesota can get some defense they might outscore fitzy, and I think Illinois is the best of those 3 remaining teams which isnt saying a whole lot But Mich ST and Minny are on the road.
We needed Wisky for sure to beat jNW last week and they laid a friggin egg and now Wisky has 3 cancellations and is out
Too much information, Melrose?O...........K!
How 'bout we beat Nebraska before we start dreaming of playing Indiana in December. Lots of water to go under the bridge before we get to Championship Saturday. The Huskers will not be a pushover.
