Kirk's assistants on twitter and facebook. Thinking of Nike Pro Combat Unis. Increased media access and exposure. Can all this be happening? Look at BHGP and all the stuff coming out in the past two days that KF may be realizing EXPOSURE IS GOOD!

Maybe it is the last time we hear KF say "we're not sexy"?

Kirk Ferentz and Iowa Football Bringing Sexy Back Since 2012!

I can see the headlines this summer.... Someone gets busted for putting their dick in a box.

we can have 50 combos of unis, or one pro combat game per year, put banana peels on the shoulders, or keep the same unis i could care less as long as we win more games

In all seriousness, I think things are moving in a good direction for the program. People like to say how we're at a disadvantage in recruiting because of our geography, and it's true. And things like Pro Combat can help in recruiting, so why the outrage at the thought of using it? It doesn't have to be something radical. I was a big fan of Texas' and LSU's Combat unis, and some of Oregon's. Granted, this is a sign that a lot of kids don't have their priorities straight. But you have to roll with the punches, and not try to squeeze square pegs into round holes. Recruits like them.

They look like crap.

Not all of them. Texas didn't change all that much, and neither did LSU. And regardless of your opinion on aesthetics, recruits love them. And I'm all for enticing recruits to come to Iowa City. That's the whole point of recruiting.

Exactly. Some schools go completely radical with their designs while others basically don't change much at all. I think Bama did one and except it fit tighter it didn't really look different at all.

So what's the fricking point, if it hardly changes?

Don't ask me. Ask the 17-18 year old kids that drool over it. In my opinion however I don't see the need to impede recruiting over a uniform Iowa will wear for one game. If other schools are doing it and it helps them on the recruiting trail then why should Iowa handcuff themselves?

This. I don't understand WHY it works, I just know it does.

Besides, people always get worked up about the designs, when it's the material that really matters. The designs are just what draws attention.

It's stupid, but if they "have to do it" because everybody else does ("ME TOO! ME TOO!"), I wouldn't mind if they did it for a road game. Those uniforms look like crap anyway. Don't mess with the home uniforms, though. I'm sure recruits will be less happy about that, though.

How does it work? I need numbers. Evidence. Anecdotes. What schools have gotten recruits because of their stupid Combat uniforms? Oh right... Alabama, Texas, Ohio State totally rocked it. I'm sure those 5-star kids would have gone to Iowa State or Northwestern if those other schools hadn't bent over for Nike.
