Iowa Finishes Season at #25

$125,000 bonus for Kirk Ferentz for finishing in the Top 25.

Plus, he gets another $650k retention bonus on January 31st.

Ka-ching!
I got a gift card from a customer who appreciated what I did for him this past year. It was a few bucks short of $650K, but it made me feel good about the service I provided. That matters. Kirk's salary and bonuses don't.

You’re not a Hawk fan so please go blow Campbell on CF thanks. They have no proven WR’s or RB’s, a mediocre offensive line, and Purdy will have to prove he can be a real QB and not just a chucker downfield with Butler to make his stats look good.
I thought he was talking about Nebraska.

That's pretty disrespectful in that after you just beat a team a week ago...coaches still vote MSU ahead of us. I guess coaches rank based on who they wouldn't want to play sometimes. I don't think alot of coaches want to line up against that defense.

That being said...we turned them over and only one of them was a gift. The other two...were CAUSED by Iowa playmakers making plays on defense. The fact that Iowa led at half and won the game...you really shouldn't put a team ahead of another team that just beat them...unless it's a top team losing and falling a certain number of spots.

I can't say I blame the writer. He is judging teams by the amount of talent they have returning and Iowa is losing a lot of talent to the NFL. This was the year Iowa should have made their run and won the West and they failed. Unless the coaches have recruits that can fill these holes right away then they are going to struggle to win 8 games next year with the schedule they have.

I expect the offense to improve but the defense has a lot of holes to fill, Epenesa cannot carry the defense by himself.
You expect the offense to improve? We lose the only 2 weapons we have on offense, and a couple lineman, yet somehow the offense will improve? I don't see that happening.

You in April:
"This. We lose our center, and the one and only playmaker on the entire team, but people think the offense is going to take a big step forward. Not gonna happen, and don't forget we still have the same clueless coaching staff."

Not only did we take a step forward, we had the second most efficient offense of the Ferentz-era.

You are the fucking definition of a broken record.

Not sure how we took a step forward when every opportunity the team had (several) to win the west was puked on the ground. (With some of the best NFL talent Iowa has ever had)

Not a fan of Iowa being rated, at all, in the preseason, if you know what I mean.

Not sure if you’re being intentionally dense but he was talking about the offense taking a step forward not the team as a whole.

I might point out that Caddy was predicting a big step backward for the offense this year, not forward. To paraphrase: We lost Wadley, our only playmaker. It turned out Iowa did have other playmakers, and the offense around those playmakers was somewhat better than last year.

Defense made the season, on many levels. Offense was "better" because of a soft schedule, padding the stats.

Stanley was a "playmaker" in the bowl game when it counted.
