Iowa fan and Michigan player exchange punches

People need to realize that these are athletes and not normal sized/strength people. I was always one of those that thought how cool it was to storm the field until I saw brawl break out during a juco game once and saw what happens when a bystander tried to separate it and absolutely got laid out. If I'm going anywhere near field/court after an emotional game/or as a spectator just watching I'm going to be sure I'm paying at attention to where the athletes are at all times and going to make damn sure I'm not anywhere near them.

Seriously what did drunk fan expect to happen? Did he think the Michigan player was going to celebrate with him?

When I first saw the Wormley video, I thought he went out of his way to hit the guy, but looking at it again, the guy probably ran into Wormley as much as anything. Same with earlier in the game when Wadley ran into some older guy going out of bounds on the Iowa side, the dude ended up on his rear. There's a reason you need to be aware of your surroundings when you're that close to the action - these guys are big and move fast - and if you don't you could end up looking ridiculous.

I love that they let the fans on the field, I think they should allow that to happen, but if you go down there and mingle with 300 pound dudes in full football gear, watch out what you're doing.

IMO, it looks like Wormley tried to avoid the fan, but it was too late.

I agree with the bolded. You take your safety into your own hands when you storm the field.

It's probably only a matter of time until someone gets hurt badly and tries to sue whichever University the game is at.

The original poster is correct. An jerk___ fan pushed Stribling in the helmet. He deserved to get taken out...luckily for him there were other people there.

Funny thing is the Michigan player didn't even blink and kept on going. Didn't even remotely stop to check, not that he should, but human instinct is usually to stop & at least look. Funny.

Right. I was thinking about the initial post though about slapping the helmet. Seriously what was he thinking.

I just hope this video clip doesn't get Stribling in any trouble. The guy deserved what he got. Anybody stupid enough to get anywhere close to doing what that fan did is either A. DUMB or B. DRUNK!!!

These guys are big, in full pads, hit hard and are very emotional (ANGRY) after losing their first game of the year. What kind of reaction did he expect!!!

I like to to chest bump sumo wrestlers
My hope is that one d'bag move by a D'BAG does not ruin it for all.

My problem is that there's times where I love the thought, but the majority of the time its so over done and has no purpose/meaning. I'm just not convinced that the majority of the time it's done off sets the chances for more incidents like this to happen.

The fan deserved to get his ass knocked out. He hit the players helmet intentionally, and then stopped to square off against the player and either throws some punches or pushes him. That dude would have gotten destroyed, even if he was a tough guy as the player was in a helmet and pads.
