There are a few still out there. From article:

Although Thompson revealed his commitment to Iowa on July 5, the 17-year-old freshman revealed on Wednesday that he continued to receive scholarship offers from a few national powerhouses and actually had visits scheduled, but instead chose to close his recruitment completely.

"Honestly, it wasn't even an opportunity to do it this year until it got brought up in Coach McCollum's office, Thompson said.

"After I called everybody and told them I was coming here, Purdue offered it, Vanderbilt offered it, I think UConn would have talked to me about it a little bit as well, but I had a visit scheduled for Kansas and UConn, and I canceled both of them to come here."

I see that he has not yet seen the court during a live game. Are they planning to redshirt him? He's OK with that?
From everything I have gathered, it seems he’s still getting caught up in general as he wasn’t here when basketball team started practices. McCollum did say after the first game that Trey is fine and good but getting him caught up defensively is what’s held him out so far. He hasn’t said anything about redshirting, and from what I gathered he committed on the word he would play this year. In the interview I just posted of McCollum last night he mentions that Trey loves this team and is understanding with what’s going on. He mentioned Trey is willing to do whatever he can to help this team out.

McCullom doesn't seem like the type that would be closed off to communication. I suspect that there has been and will be a lot of one on one conversations as to plans for this year and beyond. Honestly a pretty good gig for a 17yr old, make 6 figures while learning on the job. Should pay off(no pun intended) next year for him and hopefully the Hawks. The trick is keeping him that 2nd year as his value will have increased.
