Hawks 27-24. I know, I know....it just has a feel for defense setting the tone on both sides. Two of their scores will be set up by a turnover and good field possession. Two will be from "looks like we cant stop them" kinda drives. My guess is the 1st drive and middle of the 4th qtr with Iowa up 27-17. In between, defensive score and 2 short field TDs drives for the Hawks. One sustained drive resulting in fg. Both defenses make a big impact here, just both deal with short fields. I'm describing us by the book..all of the things you see from Iowa...except converting. I think we convert into a couple more td's this week....now excuse me while I throw up.

Yes, this is the week Goodson gets worked heavily...comparatively...into the game plan. Two weeks to prepare for his use out of the backfield on routes and check down opportunities.

The Iowa offense is what it is.... not very explosive and its not gonna change this year.
Its time for AJE to have a huge game.. 3 sacks which result in 2 fumbles lost plus a interception from a DB. Those turnovers result in 13 points then another 3 points from our offense Hawks win 16-13

I think Iowa loses at Wisconsin. They just haven’t managed to win any of the games what would get them “over the hump” since the ‘15 season.

I have Iowa in this one. I just think that this D is very good, Iowa has the better defense, Iowa has the better QB, and the better kicker. Wisconsin has a good oline, and a great RB, but Iowa plays the run really well. The teams that have beaten Iowa did it with defense. Gotta see a little more of LaPorta this week, and a steady diet of Young/Goodson.

Spoken like a true homer. I'm going to watch and just shake by head by the ineptitude of the offense. Playing Wisconsin anywhere coming off a bye week is bad news. D will be on the field alot and keep us in it. We will make a terrible TO deep in our territory and possibly have less than 12 first downs. Kirk will once again try and fight in a phone booth only to come out with all of us shaking our heads saying we could'a won that game but didn't. This is a TRUE wash, rinse and repeat. The definition of insanity people.

But KF’s clock management skills show up and the try is made with 38 seconds left and Wisky hits crossing patterns of 11-14 yards down to the Iowa 34 when the Beltin becomes new Hawk hero with an INT

Iowa will do what is does and as Kirk will state," we just need to clean up a few things and execute better. I think we lose in a close game 20-17. I just hope we can keep the Wisconsin defense off of Nate because they will be coming on the blitz. I would be shocked if they didn't send the house often after Nate. It's no secret that he can't beat you with his legs.

And it's absolutely no secret we can't run the ball effectively so...we got that going for us...nice and predictable which is the way Kirk likes things. Remember a couple years ago when we were pulling out every creative Spec Teams plays possible and winning with those? Where have all those gone?! We will need one of those this weekend to have a chance OR a really bad Coan.

I'm predicting 16-7 Wisconsin. Once again the defense keeps them somewhat in the game and gives the offense a chance, but Stanley/BF/KF/offensive line woes will continue to perform like they have. Sorry to say, but they will. When we need a stop, but somehow, someway, we will give up a huge play ala pass, run, or penalty, while Wisconsin will get away with holds. Another game that we should have won, but somehow we can't. We need to stop the run, get to the Q, and do something almost unthinkable on offense; like throw downfield, give Stanley the time to throw, block your ever loving asses off to create a long run; fumbles; picks on defense.....now I'm grasping at straws, but you should get my point. We will have to play flawless, and attack on both sides of the ball.

Love that video when we actually had a QB mobile enough to make plays down field out of the pocket. We don't have that and we have a sieve for an internal OL. Hard to believe as many guys as Kirk has put in the NFL at OL but....we are bad at probably the most important 3 positions on our team.

I think we used them all up vs OSU in Kinnick last go around. The OSU gods have come down on us hard ever since.

With our weak BF-Offense...and without our #1 receiver.
...there's always a puncher's chance, but I put our odds of grinding out a win in Madison at maybe 10%
