To me, this is the pivotal game of the year. Been waiting for this one since Sept. Very hard to win at Camp Randle Stadium, though it's been done; and recently. Badgers have shown that they can be beaten. However, it's been widely publicized Iowa will sell out and put 8 in the box to try to stop the Wisc. awesome running game. Badgers do have a dangerous passing game, so our defensive backs will be "on an island" much of the game. You can bet Nate Stanley really, really wants to win this game! That doesn't mean he will show up, however.

I have Iowa in this one. I just think that this D is very good, Iowa has the better defense, Iowa has the better QB, and the better kicker. Wisconsin has a good oline, and a great RB, but Iowa plays the run really well. The teams that have beaten Iowa did it with defense. Gotta see a little more of LaPorta this week, and a steady diet of Young/Goodson.

I'd love to see it, but I just can't. Our offense has no punch to it. Especially on the road and FG's aren't going to win this game.

I wish I could see it but I don't. Our offensive struggles against good defenses are well documented. And I think our defense gets worn down by the fourth quarter. 24-13 Bucky. (And I hope I'm dead wrong).

Iowa 23 Wiscy 21

The best FG K in the nation shuts up Da Hawk Mockers by nailing a 42yd FG to take the lead.

But KF’s clock management skills show up and the try is made with 38 seconds left and Wisky hits crossing patterns of 11-14 yards down to the Iowa 34 when the Beltin becomes new Hawk hero with an INT

So .... we all have something to complain about but Da Haterz can run with that all week.

Head says Wisconsin close, heart says Iowa close. Going with the latter.

We moved the ball well on them last year, and they're reeling right now. Plus the ball has to roll our way SOMETIME.

Iowa 20
Wisconsin 17

And then they lost to Illinois.
Not sure what to think of IL. They looked like Rutgers first half of season, until 2nd half vs Mich. I am really not sure they aren’t a good team now. Maybe all the Transfers are all caught up to the ‘system’ now.

Goodson 16 touches or greater Iowa wins. Goodson less then 16 touches, Hawks lose.

To have a chance in this one we need younger players to take a solid step forward, Goodson, Tracy, Linderbaum, Kallenbeger, and LaPorta on offense, and Nixon, Doyle, Koerner, Belton, and Campbell on defense. Hopefully the extra week of practice has helped with these guys.

I really hope I'm wrong, and I hate to say it, but I see Wisconsin running away with this one.

It's a bit of a perfect storm against the Hawks: Wisconsin's coming off of two road losses, they're at home playing a rival in a pivotal West division game and have had two weeks to prepare.

Chryst discussed the strategy of defenses loading the box and made a point to mention that the team worked on countering that. Iowa, of course, is stating that the plan is to load the box. I see us getting burned early and often by play-action and struggling to adjust on the fly. Combine that with an offense that struggles mightily against the 3-4, and it could be a long afternoon.

I’m actually rooting for Illinois to turn it around. I like Lovie Smith a lot and it would be good for the division. They aren’t bombastic and annoying like Minnesota, Northwestern, and Nebraska.
