developmental program, less talent and the scheme is predicable...and they're just not giving these guys a chance to be successful.

The good news is Iowa gets to play Illinois. The bad news is they play Illinois in Illinois. They have a chance of losing their last three games.

Nah. Critical, of course, but controlled.

Rob, ferentz shouldn't be the coach next season. 2 weeks off and zero game plan from iowa. zero. 15 starters returning from 12-0, 12-2. that just shouldn't be. worse of all, this season validates colin cowherd. i mean, come on. we're staring 5-7 in the face and if we lose to Illanoy, that's horrible coaching.

It is amazing what Iowa fans will put up with because some one is a nice guy.

--------With the typical JM disclaimer of "I'm not doing what I did after the 2014 season". Yes Jon, we know you are embarrassed by that and aren't going there again. No reason to keep bringing it up after every Iowa loss...

No shit....do we have to hear that after EVERY freakin loss??????

wait...listening to Jon read off the '17 schedule, Iowa is staring 0-4, at home, in the B1G. UM and kNU. holy crap. No B1G wins at home.

"the calvary is not coming, we have to play the guys we have." that's a kirk-ism for, "oh shit, we suck." that's what he said in '12.

That's the thing. We were 12-2 last year. It was a historic season.

No doubt it's been a very disappointing year. But I don't believe it calls for a firing of KF, not that it's possible with the contract extension.

I have said, and I'll maintain, that be buyout in the extension was an epic fail by Barta.

This one year doesn't deserve a firing just like last year didn't deserve a raise and extension. We've known what Kirk is for years and we know that a random over performing season or a random under performing season is going to blend in with a bunch of average, boring seasons. Neither last year, or this year, changes my opinion of what kind of coach Kirk is. An average coach who somehow always puts it together when he needs to, then strikes gold because of it.

I like the podcasts - but I'm not on board with the, "Well we lost Tevaun and Jordan Lomax and so and so."

Sorry, but when Kirk won't use Mitchell and/or King on offense it shows that he is devoted to not trying new things that might help. So the excuse that someone graduated only works when you've shown a willingness to use ALL of your weapons. Hell, when he had Tevaun Smith he didn't use him for all he was worth. Same goes for Keenan Davis and Damond Powell and lots of others. A ton of talent has been under-utilized by Kirk. Then you get posters who say, "This team has less talent than FCS schools."

No they don't. It only looks that way to some fans because the head coach doesn't get as much out of these kids as he could and should.

I get that. Kirk not coaching at Iowa next season is up to him. The ride is over. Is he in it for the contract or does he really care about Iowa football. His vision doesn't work anymore. Does he know it? If he does, then he changes.
