Insight Bowl Game Thread

Iowa gives up 600 yards passing at this rate. 8 guys in coverage is supposed to prevent gaping holes 18 yards down field yet missou guys are wide open

Stanzi is having an efficient night, 6 of 10 for 124. His QB rating in the first half is 164.16.

If Norm just keeps on "doing what we do" then we are gonna get rolled in the second half.

In other words, prepare to get rolled in the second half.

Yep. We all know how this movie ends.

That's not just good old pessimism either. That's empirical fact.

This defensive scheme needs NFL LBs and a sick pass rush to be good, we got that last year and in 2004. Without those two elements, this defensive scheme has problems stopping the likes of Western Michigan. The offense has again executed to perfection, but the D will once again likely cost us the game. Although thank goodness we don't have a 10+ point lead right now or else Ferentz would order O'Keefe to shut down the offense in the second half.

You never know, Norm has made some very subtle changes where he will bait a QB all game and then sometime late in the 3rd or early in the fourth, one of the CBs will jump a route and the QB will be like "WTF?" Gabbert's gotta be on pace for over 500 right now, not a lot of teams can give up 500 yards passing and win.

In all seriousness...as much as I've dogged Keefe over the years, I've finally accepted that it's Ferentz who's to blame for the self-limiting offense.

And it's a sad acceptance.

They can in the NFL. Not in college. Not unless the other QB is close to 5 bills himself.
