Insight Bowl Game Thread

hope we can get some adjustments to get some pressure to start the half, otherwise they'll march it down the field again to start the half

The only way you beat a great QB is by pressuring him, making him rush, killing his rhythm. That's the only way. You'd think Kirk NFL would have figured that out by now.

Hope to see Clayborn with some effort in the second half.. if not pull him let someone who wants to play have a shot

stats from Jon's chat:

Iowa listed first

Total yards 243-293
Rush: 119-9
1st 8-16
Plays 28-46
TOP: 14:06 - 15:06

The number that jumps out at me is that they have already ran 46 plays. The pass rush was bad in the first half... how's it going to look in the 2nd with a D that has already played nearly 50 plays.

Gabbert had 284 yds in the first half. He's only had 3 games this season where he's had that many yds total in a full game. Iowa's D seems to surrender many career days.

i'm sure the D is spent after that half. lets hope we can keep chewing up the clock when we get the ball.

If we don't dominate 2-1 in time of possession the second half we are done because we've seen it all year. This D will be dog-*** tired by the end of the game given how many plays they are playing.... we've seen this act MANY times already.

Would rathar see more defensive backs in the game rathar than blitzing LB. Gabbert is getting his numbers but the scoreboard still favors the Hawks. You think Mizzu is happy giving up over a hundread yards rushing in a half? Would love to see AC get some help over there, like maybe blitzing on his side for once??

What a crazy game so far.

Wonder if we'll actually continue to run Coker in the 2nd half?

Thank god for the INT, or we'd be screwed, as Missouri has an accurate QB and several receivers. I wonder why Iowa can't have that, too.

Yep. We all know how this movie ends.

That's not just good old pessimism either. That's empirical fact.

It'd be pretty cool if Mizzou had chance to win in the 4th and we stop them (with a legit stop. Not a dropped pass in the endzone).

can we get a 5th DB in the game for the love of god, how many times do they have to run the same play over and over again for 12 yards.....
