I'm excited for this season*

This year will be a very good one for the Hawkeyes, and us fans will be rewarded, despite our skepticism, snarkiness and down-right negativity.*

* Providing the offensive line can keep Beathard upright
* Providing the LBs improve, dramatically
* Providing the WRs can get open (and catch the ball)
* Providing the aforementioned OL can open some holes and the RB crew stays healthy
* Providing the special teams play returns to the early to mid-2000 form

Tiny little issues to work out. Like I said, this will be a good year.

Every team in the US could say the above and if comes to fruition will have a good season. Every team would succeed if they did all that. I think what you just did was point out all the flaws/weaknesses from last year. The real problem is the NUMBER of issues they have to overcome. I mean there are teams that may be able to overcome a couple from the previous year, but it's the number of weak areas that is a bit disconcerting.

LOL. When you have to go past about two "providing" scnearios for your team to have a successful year you shouldn't hold your breath. The ONLY thing that saves this team is a putrid schedule and if Beathard emerges and is allowed to wing it around. Good luck.

I’m glad someone is excited for the upcoming season cause I’m not. Where at one time it was unfathomable for me to schedule anything on a Football Saturday I’ve learned to fill my weekends since dumping my season tickets, which I had for 19 straight years, after the 2012 season. So far I’ve got the pre-season filled and am working on the conference schedule.

Illinois State – Will be in Hong Kong. Never been and am stoked!

ISU – Technically I will be in town and could watch as a friend from LA is visiting that weekend but if they dump it to Illinois State, a real possibility, I won’t be anywhere near a TV for that game.

Pittsburgh – Will be at ND for the Georgia Tech game. Have family in Indiana and this will be my 4th ND game in the last 5 years. I can’t stand ND or their fans but if you want to see how to put on a football game go to an Irish game. The tailigating is subdued but there is no smile
Delta Dental cam in the stadium or any other lame advertising for that matter. The band is awesome and engaged through out the whole game and doesn’t play r#etard crap like the Star Wars Imperial Death March from 57 years ago. The students are given seats where they can be seen and heard and have an impact on the game. Maybe someone should book Barta a ticket so he can get a glimpse?

North Texas State – Will be in Vegas. I’ve lost track of how much money I’ve won fading Ferentz since 2010 in Vegas. Ever since the Indiana game where they dropped a game winner in the end zone in the closing seconds it’s been obvious there have been major fundamental flaws with this program that Ferentz won’t acknowledge, much less fix, and he’s been easy pickings ever since.

You see Hawk Fans, there is more to life than Iowa Football and given that it’s about as entertaining as being beaten with a bag of Oranges for 3.5 hrs. your time would be better spent elsewhere………..IMHO.

I have my doubts that you've ever been to or ever will be at a Hawkeye game. You post like a cyfan. You'll probably be at the clown-UNI game opening weekend watching UNI drop a deuce on the clowns.

Sure thing donkey boy. How's those English for rejects books working out for you? All it takes is one email to the athletic dept. to confirm who has done what for the Hawks and we can post the response here.

Put up or stfu coward.

You don't waste your time watching the games, but you spend how much it on the football forums posting on numerous topics? Most of which are the same points repeated. We get it, you don't think we are any good, and won't be any better anytime soon. So if your life is so much better now that you have decided to stop watching, why not keep it going and leave here too? I think everyone's lives would benefit.

.....Not that you care though......

To summarize, you care so little about Iowa Football that you come to a free message board about Iowa football to post a long manifesto that no one really wants to read through about not wanting anything to do with Iowa Football. Makes complete sense.

Well, I'm excited. Nervous...hedging...concerned....but still excited.

It's a new season. Maybe with some of the same frustrations, but hey...Hawkeye Football is coming.

Go Hawks.

I'm not excited but I am hopeful. I hope they outperform the predicted 4th place BIG West finish. CJ could go completely off the reservation and play balls to the wall. It will tick KF off but what can he do? He doesn't have a backup with any real game experience.

Ripping on someone's deficiencies of the English language, while committing no less than four grammatical errors of your own, tells everyone what kind of douchenozzle you are.

I am super excited to go to Kinnick this year. Iowa will have a good season, and as a bonus better seats are available this year!

If you aren't excited, I don't know why you'd hang out on a football message board in the offseason. We have one month (minus a day) until the college football season kicks off. We should all be excited. Soon enough, we'll all be dead. Get busy living.

<<(A)bout as entertaining as being beaten with a bag of Oranges for 3.5 hours>>

My guess is, getting to watch said beating on you would raise any/all buyout money for facilities/KF contract/etc. I know I'd pay BIG.

Hey, he contributes more than anybody. Just ask him.

To summarize your summary, as long as a poster complains of 'approved complaints' on HN they are true Hawkeye fans. If not complaining about 'approved' topics of disgust on HN like GD or KOK (which makes me conclude many of you would rather have KF run the offense), many of you think there's a hack or at worse a CY fan. HAHAHAHAHA.

LOL. I see you just gave up on trying to use the perplexing quote and multi-quote functions of this site there Bob.

Watching you fumble about trying to use the internet provides us the entertainment our football team can no longer provide.

I would say I'm excited because I always enjoy Hawkeye football... but not hopeful.
