If I was Purdue I’d blitz us every single play

Stanley can’t handle pressure at all and shown no ability to make a team back off.

I’m not exaggerating, I’d blitz on 100% of Iowa’s Offensive snaps. There is literally no downside against this offense.
Obviously, you must be basing this "can't handle pressure" thing on one game? Have you looked at his stats against 9 other teams? Please do.

Field position had more impact on this game that any I have seen in a really long time. Some of it was Iowa's own fault; some of it was good play by WI; some of it was circumstance. In the first half especially, we never really had a chance offensively to establish any kind of game plan/rhythm. It was, indeed, the perfect storm.

Our Defense deserved so much better this year.
I know the players love KF, but they can;t see this objectively for what it is.
KF has let EVERYONE DOWN THIS SEASON. And I mean everyone.
Shame of it all is he'll never admit to it. The press conference post-game loss cliche's flow from his mouth as easy as breathing at this point.
Barta is a spineless puppet who is completely incapable of holding anyone accountable....
SO....
Let's face it, there are only TWO THINGS that would rid us of both Barta and the Ferentz family:
1. Some sort of earth-shaking scandal that brings the whole house down.
I don't want that to ever happen at Iowa, nobody does...
2. Season ticket-holders UNITE and DO NOT RENEW their seats for next season. Empty seats game after game for just ONE SEASON send the message that our message boards will never do in a thousand lifetimes.

#2 is by far the better option people.
Just my 2cents' worth.

The talent level of Purdue is nowhere near what Wisconsin has.

Can't argue with this at all. The punting game handed Wisconsin the ball many times with good field position and the defense had their backs against the wall. Didn't help that the offense went 3 and out so often and never let the D rest.

Wisconsin was better prepared bottom line and executed.

And to top it off, I think this is a really good Wisconsin team, anyway. Still, our punting/returning woes are absolutely killing us. That they did NOT hurt us badly against O$U (save for the "fake" that lead to O$Us last score) is a minor miracle.

Against Ohio State, Stanley was able to change plays successfully at the LOS. The visiting team can't do that at WI and Barrett had trouble doing that at Iowa. Huge home team advantage. If the game against WI was in Kinnick, it would have been a lot different. I'm not saying Iowa would automatically win, but it wouldn't be a beat down.

Why would you do that? Everyone knows the plays we run and when we run them and in the order we run them.

Just wondering are any of the naysayers on here the same ones drinking the kool-aid after beating Ohio St. Wisconsin was the better team hands down,we didn't have a answer for the 3-4 defense, they would bring the LBer from different holes.Plenty of film to watch.

I hope Iowa's offense isn't watching the Wisconsin tape. Purdue plays 4-3 defense Save it until next week. Nebraska is trying to transition to 3-4 defense. Emphasis on the word "trying".

Nothing went right on Saturday, except for Josh Jackson's play. The line couldn't figure out where the pass rush was coming from, Stanley couldn't find receivers in the space left by the blitz, that is, when the WRs were finding those spaces which wasn't that often. And then when someone would come open, they'd drop the ball. Drive killers, every time. They must work on that stuff in practice. Right? When it all falls apart, there must be an Open In Case Of Emergency game plan. They must have left that in Iowa City.

How many of our distinguished erudite football savants both making and replying to this post understand that Wisconsin rarely blitzed during the game? Over/under 7 for wagering purposes.

Having an extra back in a 3-4 gives a team options for their blitz package. Combine that with experienced, talented players like Wisconsin has, it can be a tough offensive day.

Purdue is better that they were last year, but they aren't near the level of the top teams. Iowa should be able to find some wiggle room with this defense. Not as much as we would like, but it shouldn't be a shut out either. As a team Purdue has 7 INT's(?). Josh Jackson. 7. INT return yards; Iowa 352. That's right 352.

Purdue is slinging the ball all over the field to get their offense moving. While this works against a lot of defenses, it might not be the best plan against Iowa. Iowa doesn't have the best interior linemen, but they aren't pushover's either. Purdue's best rusher has under 500 yards total. Purdue has some receiver's but Iowa has very good cornerbacks and linebackers.

I expect the offense to do enough to win. Kinnick + Iowa Defense-Iowa's offense= Win for Iowa.

If you were Purdue.........then...

Who'd be you?

Regardless. I agree

Purdue has a defense that statistically similar to Iowas. So how is Iowa going to move the ball?

On offense they have some semblance of competence. They move the ball.

Don't be surprised if they beat Iowa simply because Iowa gets outscored so to speak

The only way to lose a game is to get "outscored" so to speak. ;)
