Archie may not be a scorer but from what I've heard he D's up and rebounds...as for McCabe, how do you know he can't play? Cougill was a questionable signing from the get go, so you can have that one...the rest, you have no proof as of yet.
Never said I had to have proof. Seen McCabe play a few time and just watched him the other day at the state tourney and have never thought he was a Big Ten player. Archie wasn't recruited by anyone. I hope they play well as Hawkeyes in he future, the question was just who could you do without.
I won't say that Cougill is a B10 player because he is VERY raw but how can you say Archie and McCabe aren't. Have you seen them play?

Who gives a rip? How many of them know jack about highschool ball in Iowa outside of "Harrison Barnes"? There's a Korver in the NBA who had NO Big10 offers, including IOWA...does he now suck? As for Archie, he's coming for 3 reasons...athleticism, defense and rebounding...things Iowa needs to help match up. I don't give a crap who didn't offer him because he's not a double figure scorer, he fills a need on MY team!
Are you one of those on the football board who b!tches about "stars" instead of giving players time to develop as well??? Just wondering...

You seem to be getting defensive. How many other Iowa kids are playing in the NBA from the time Korver left Creighton?? So the chances one of these kids is even as good as Korver turned out is 100 to 1. I too don't need all double digit scorers, you asked me questions, I answered. We are where we are because no one thinks Lick can recruit very well but then lots of you say this is a great recruiting class. It is rated average to below average in the Big Ten for next year. Ratings aren't everything and I hope these kids turn out, I just have an opinion otherwise

Nah, we both know I'm not getting defensive...sounds like you're just trying to turn it that way since you're losing an argument, but nice try! As for them having to be as good as Korver, you're the only one who thinks they need to be to play high level college ball. As for Iowa's recruiting class and it's ranking in the conference, that says more for the conference than it does for Iowa's class...and as long as we're both Hawk fans at the end of the day, this is all good.

McCabe was still looking at FB for a while. But he did get offers from Arizona State, UNI, Butler, among others. Also at the AAU tourneys last summer, he got a TON of interest from a lot of big schools... a TON. Iowa was in the right spot and snagged him.
