I shot a 74 today

Here is my latest GHIN update. I shot 75 Thursday and 77 yesterday. The 68 on 5-5 was from the one up tees in Men's league a few weeks back. Handicap came updated at 0.0. I would like for it to trend up for wagering purposes.

Not to brag, but I will.

The question is how many balls you lose in the water?I have lost quite many balls in the waters and I gave it up....wasn`t good golfer anyway...

Nice round Duff. But golf is a game that is best summarized as "if your playin well now, then your just postponing the inevitable...". Plus success is directly related to how much you work at it.

I have been as low as a +3 but have played maybe 15 rounds the last two years due to bad back etc. Doubt I can play to a 3 now.

You caught that before I took it out. Not that you are bragging as a 13 hcp shooting a 74, Nah??? ;-)

I have ran into several that have double digit handicaps and seem to somehow shoot around par, especially in big money games or tournaments. Makes me go hmmmmmm.

Not saying that's you, just saying.

nope not me. I've broken 80 four times, and last year was the first. its rare I have both the driver and the wedges and putter going. Friday they were.

Something has gone terribly wrong with my game. Think it is something with my set up. But tinkering hasn't helped.

three separate times I have gotten to 18 or better and then just completely lost it... couldn't even break 100. I felt lost over the ball at set up and couldn't get comfortable. the more I hit balls the worse I got... timer tinker tinker. I figured out it was the grip which completely changed my takeaway and I couldn't consistently recover.

my advice is to stop tinkering and go buy a two lesson package. use the first one solely on building a consistent base. grip, posture, stance, and take away. once you are solid there your body will eventually figure the rest out, cause you've been there before. save the second lesson, instead go pound range balls w your correct set up until you are feeling good.

now go use the second lesson so the pro can see you when you are playing well. have him take some video. that way if you ever fall down again you have a reference point and will be able to pinpoint why and you won't have to tinker or guess what ur doing wrong.

The number of times I take people's money away from them, due to their selection of clubs alone, astounds me. Even from the tips at Gardner, which isn't exactly the best maintained course, I'd take driver about 10 times. Maybe.

I swing too hard. I hit a 4 wood 270. Big deal. This helps my score how? Exactly. It doesn't. I'm slowing everything down except from my seven iron down. I still want to be able to hit short to mid irons as long as possible to approach and hold greens. Anything larger than a 7 iron, I just want to be able to move the ball.

I love golf. I also hate it.

Yep Duff: That's about what I had come to. Everything just feels way too hard in my swing right now. I don't I am over swinging, just that it feels like my body is working against me.

Thanks for the idea of splitting the lessons.

I hit driver on every hole but par 3,s. Then again I only average 250 per drive and can work it both ways.
