I shot a 74 today

36-38. I had two birdies and two bogeys on the front. I missed a six footer for par on the ninth that would have given me a 35 on the front, my first ever 9 hole score under par. The back had two bogeys. I three putted for par on a par five (from about 50 feet).

This run started a week ago. I shot an 81, but it was a 44-37 with 3 birdies on the back.

I might go pro, but in the meantime if anyone in CR needs a ringer for a best shot I'm your huckleberry.

Not bad. Is that your best score ever? Congrats.
My best 18 hole score was in a local tourny last year, 71, 1 under in first round 82 in 2nd. Fell off the wagon. I also have several 2,3,4 under 9 hole rounds in league. But thats about as good as it gets for me.

I shot 78 once last year. Typically anything under 85 and Im thrilled. I'm a 13 so a 74 is a net 60 for me in that course.

Nice. My game has improved greatly in the last 4 or 5 years. Playing more regularly is helping. I am now to the point where my bad shots are not that bad (Staying in play for the most part) and that has really halped my game immensely. Everyone is going to hit good shots occassionaly, its what you do with the ones that aren't so good that help you score, and of course putting can save or kill you. I love the game though, its great.
BTW, what happened to the Hawkeye Nation golf tournament?

too late in the year for that, next yearbook maybe, we should work on it in march. I've spent the last month practicing nothing but 100 yards and in. I've shaved 3 shots off my index this spring. Yes minimizing the damage is important, but nothing does that quicker than getting up and down for par 8 times and and finishing with 28 putts which I did today.

Gardner from the tips.

I shot a 49 on the disc golf course yesterday. Shot a 95 on the ball golf course today. That averages out to a 72!

When you suck at golf as much as I do you have to find ways to make yourself feel better.

This is exactly right...my grandpa was a scratch golfer - never went to the driving range - strictly worked on chipping and putting.....
