I never cease to be amazed

How many years in a row get tabbed as "Make or break" for an Iowa head coach in any sport....last year, it was THIS YEAR.....now it is NEXT YEAR, in a season that schedule wise sets up to be the easiest of all time. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH....KF could have his worst coaching year ever next year and still sleaze together 7 or 8 wins. Then what??? Another 2 -3 seasons to prove once again what a lazy flop he has become??? Can we please cut bait this season....I cannot take anymore punts from the other teams 34 yard line. Note to KF....you are not coaching in a National Championship game in the 4th quarter with the score tied 10-10. He lost me for good at OSU in 2009 and continues to lose me more and more every pathetic season. At ANY other program paying 4 million per, he would have been gone at the end of last year. And don't even get me started about recruiting.....sheeesh.....time for another Coors light!

It's the lackluster media and other tools who play pocket pool while asking him all those daunting questions in the post game. There is no heat on the guy. I'm guessing with this loss he is now encroaching on a straight .500 record in the big ten

Who ever said this year was smoking crack. To me it was always next year. Outside of going 0-12 Kirk wasn't being fired this season.

no one thought ferentz was getting shown the door after this year... unless something remarkably horrible happens the rest of the year

The program looks better than last year. Lots of preseason predictions of 6-6. Looks like we're on track for that. Lookn good. Yea. Can't wait. Until next year. Again.

Going 4-8 last year with the schedule Iowa played may have been the worst coaching job ever and nothing happened so don't expect any changes.

One correction, the program looked better than last year until last week.

These past 7 quarters feel just like last year.

I get your sentiment though... People predicted 3, 4, or 5 wins and crazily upset that we lost to a top 25 team.

false premise.

I was totally following you until you called him a lazy flop. I have never once heard anyone actually associated with the program call KF lazy. I think you're wrong, he isn't lazy. A flop, sure. Stubborn, yes but not lazy. He wants to win, but he wants to win his way. Field position, smart fundamental football. Clearly the defense is playing better than last season but the offense has shown some flashes from time to time but rarely. First couple drives against tOSU and jNW. Then they seem to do nothing, because once the other teams make adjustments, Iowa doesn't seem to do anything except appear to "hope" for turnovers and rely on the other team making mistakes. If anything has proved against KF's system over the past 3-4 years is Iowa seems to be the teams making the costly mistakes, not the opponent. He has opened up on the defensive side of the ball but not offensively that much and it is really hurting this team.

Nothing wrong with calling the Chevrolet Nova in Latin America.
Heck, the Ford Edsel was a great automobile.

Dave - I do think he has gotten lazy in SEVERAL areas....namely recruiting!!! He is the WORST at closing deals of any D-1 coach going....if you want someone bad enough, you personally stay after them or have your coaches camp out on their doorstep. I've heard countless stories of him backing away and simply telling the recruit something to the effect of "You need to do whats best for you".....how many 17 year old kids know what that is??? He is happier coaching up a bunch of 2 stars than he is trying to land 4 stars and eliminate some of the doubt....I for one am NOT happy with this approach. Kids from Mason city who "really hustle" or "bring their lunch pail" every week do little more than get you what we are currently getting....extremely mediocre football with zero upside.

The program is starting to deflect which is the first sign that they have no idea to fix what is wrong and need someone to blame. The first salvo was the tweet from Brian about the stadium experience. They are trying to blame Iowa's terrible play at home on the sound system and score boards? Are you kidding me?

iowa didn't need a kick *** sound system or scoreboard from 2002 to 2004 or 2009. It appears the staff has decided that they are running out of excuses so let's blame in on tech stuff. You only need this crap if you have to make an artificial experience because the product on the field sucks.

(Sorry to the defense that you get lumped into the word program when the offense has been the problem 11 out of 14 years.)

When KF is worried about the music.....you know its over. Take a look at the team coming back next year - they better put in heck of a sound system
