I hate Pedo state

I hope they put a camera on the Penn State team watching the selection show like in basketball. I want there to be a record of their faces when the committee rightfully kicks them in the junk. I want Nelson Muntz to show up and give them the ol' "HA-HA". The football gods need to make this happen.

I think everyone needs to stop dragging out the Penn State scandal. It's immature and disgraceful to refer to them as "Pedo State" considering that the majority of Penn State students and staff had nothing to do with said scandal. What occurred was/is terrible and the victims will never be the same.

However, it's been over five years since the scandal's blanket was lifted. Unless you are actively doing something to help the situation, it does no good to bring keep bringing attention to it. I'm not saying we should completely throw it under the rug and pretend it didn't happen. We should never completely forget about it, but at the same time it doesn't do any good for people to keep bringing it up.

Whether right or wrong, too harsh or not harsh enough, the punishment the NCAA applied to Penn State's football program has been fulfilled. The negligent individuals that allowed wrongful acts to happen have been dismissed, disciplined, or are deceased. It's not right to punish the current coaching staff and student athletes for something they had no part of.

It's time to move on.

Franklin bothers me. I'm one who wants KF to show more emotion, but Franklin's chest bumping everyone and acting like the age of those he's coaching is a bit much. Maybe it's just my hate for Pedo State. Either way, wtf kind of second half was that Wisconsin?!? Adam Shada never played as bad as the entire Wisconsin secondary did the 2nd half. Mcsorely was basically playing 500 and just throwing shit up. Made a couple good throws, but was not frickin Johhny Unitas out there as Connie made him look.

And this is the very reason to take a few long shots each game. Did you see McSorley's passing line against OSU? It was something like 9 for 23 but for over 240 yards. They suck you to the LOS with Barkley and the zone read then go over the top. I hate to say it but I like that aggressive type play calling.

You have to look at the risk-reward and if you can get a defensive holding and a PI and 5 long completions in a game then you have a good chance of winning.

You're free to move on, Mikey. That's certainly your right but as someone who was sexually assaulted as a child I take exception to you asking me to move on.

Some of us will remember that it was the football culture at Penn State and the cult in State College that allowed child rape to happen. The punishment they received was too light and the fact that the sanctions were lifted early is an absolute joke. And then you have the play by play guy from the Big Ten Championship calling a win in the football field part of the healing process for the program. Sorry, it's not helping the victims heal.

No. Never. Ever. Just because the NCAA and Big Ten see money as more important than numerous CHILD RAPES, doesn't make it right, nor okay, not justified, or equal. It makes it worse. 5 years isn't long enough to forget about CHILD RAPE. I don't know if any amount of time will. Nor Should it. Never forget the cover up of many innocent victims suffered because JoePa and the rest of his cult were
Winning football games. Those dirt bags committed (IMO) the worst act a human being can. If you want to "let it go" then you can. But once again in my opinion, you are doing the same thing the cult did. Don't mention it and hope it all goes away. Don't let it tarnish my entertainment.

This is bigger than football.

I guess what I don't understand is why ANYone thought PSU was more deserving than O$U, Clemson or Washington. Nine straight wins is great, but they got slaughtered by Michigan, lost to Pitt and the win over O$U was at home, and Wiscy win was on neutral field.

O$U beat Michigan and had road wins over Oklahoma and Wisconsin.

Kudos to Franlklin and PSU on a great season, but two-loss teams shouldn't "expect" to get in over one-loss teams when both are in the same conference.

Never will I let this go, they will always be known as Pedo State to me. The students, the fan base, the community none of them learned a damn thing from this. They still hold Paterno in high regard and the recruits rallied around Pedo State when the football program should have gotten the death penalty and kicked out of the Big Ten. Don't give me that bullcrap about how none of those kids did nothing wrong, they could have went anywhere to play football and they chose to go and be a part of that crapshow.

The only problem I have with them and the whole situation is that they never had to serve their full "sentence" & got paroled too early. I don't have a problem with them winning, it's just that they never served their time for such a heinous crime and lack of institutional control.

Well, Paterno died right when all of this stuff went down and Sandusky is sitting in a prison cell, and he will die there of old age.

I don't agree. I don't care if he was late to the party and did "right". The guy had to know something was up years ago and turned his cheek. They even rehired Sandusky and allowed him around the program later.

Well stated Rob. I am numb with shock but do appreciate your transparency on such a subject.

Yep, exactly my thought. They signed up for it knowing about the sanctions. When crap like this happens I hate when the media states crap like "the current players didn't have anything to do with ........", well tough crap. They younger can transfer. Yes, seniors might be caught up in and screwed a bit, but unfortunately, there will always be some collateral damage.

But, said institutions should still be on the hook just to make them have institutional control, because it not, will just continue to happen. Making them have control would be better in the long run.

Sorry, I initially thought you stated Paterno "did" right. My old eyes. My bad.

Anyway, thinking about it, what an epic fall from Grace. In one year the guy goes from having the most wins in college footgball and being on top of the mountain and revered to a scandal, having wins taken away and dying. Literally happen in 9 months time.

Or you could just read the title and not open the thread. Plenty of non Hawkeye football topics get posted on here.

Penn State has no right to be in this position. I give them credit for being good and winning the Big 10 title but if the NBAA (no balls at all ) hadn't backed off it's punishment Penn State wouldn't have been able to do this. Penn State, Ohio State, North Carolina receive little to no punishment while mid level teams receive hard punishment for lesser violations.
NCAA is a bunch of cowards who are morally bankrupt.
