Huge Choke

That was an awesome choke job by Michigan.

Both NBA players' sons and Burke blow it from the line in the last minute. Don't think it's Belein's fault, just what I've come to expect from MI. The team motto should be:
"Michigan, finding ways to do less with more since our founding."

Yeah, it must suck to have won a National Championship in their history, must suck really bad.

Considering the talent on their roster and the talent in Michigan 1 National Championship is still doing less with more IMO. This also happened back when Michigan basketball was a bit on the shady side.

Case in point. They should have several championships with the talent they've had. Less with more.

Because it is so easy to win a National Championship...with "shoulds" "but" and "ifs" it is really easy, hell Iowa has probably had at least two that way.

Beating NW is a given. If we lose then 95% of the threads over the last 3 weeks may as well be deleted. We will take care of our business against NW. They have no depth, size, etc. We are playing with confidence.

Side Note - I think Gesell getting hurt will end up being a blessing...especially if he can come back and play in the BTT. Clemmons seems to have gotten his swagger back and we will need him for the BTT run. Woodbury and Olaseni are also confident right now and will also be critical to our success.

Agree and will he start if he can play and is not 100%?

Not with the talent IA has had compared to MI. You've got to view underachievement with respect to the talent involved. MI just keeps doing it year after year.

Um, okay...there really isn't as big a gap as you think because the Fab 5 never existed.

I heard something on the radio today that Iowa snapped the longest drought in the Big Ten without having a 20 win season this year.

Talent is one thing, didn't Johnny Orr coach at Michigan?

Haven't read the whole thread. But this Michigan team is really starting to remind me of last year's Mizzou. There's no way I pick them past the Sweet Sixteen, and I don't think I'll take them that far. Indiana and MSU are the final four candidates, not Michigan.

The Fab 5 didn't win a title. Seriously, that was an immense waste of talent. A similar situation is playing out now.

They didn't? They are not as talented today, or nowhere near as that group...you won't see another group like that for a long time and it doesn't matter anyway, technically they didn't play a couple of those years.

It really isn't all that easy to win a National Championship, but some seem to think it is pretty easy. Even the most talented teams (Houston, for one) lose when they shouldn't.

Last years Kentucky was close with Davis Jones and Gilcrest.

Beilein isn't the problem. His team was playing for the conference title on the last day of the season and his guys couldn't knock down free throws. I wouldn't be surprised to see Michigan gone the first weekend of the ncaa though. To soft on D and not much inside.
