This is correct. I've always thought that as well. I think in his eyes he always thought his NW and Iowa were on the same level and in the beginning I think they tried to manufacture a rivalry with Iowa. Just seems that way, anyway.

In terms of the B14, pretty meaningless. With their easy schedule, Wisky is likely to go 9-0. Even IF they lose their 2 toughest games - home vs Iowa and Michigan - they still win the West.

In terms of staying on track for bowl eligibility, it's a little more important. Win it and I'd say it's 50/50 hawks finish 7-5. Lose it and I'd say it's 50/50 Hawks finish 6-6. The biggest benefit from either scenario is a couple extra weeks of practice.

Now, if you're super psyched to go to San Diego over San Francisco or Nashville over New York, then this game is BIG!

Iowa is coming off a bye, northwestern just went at Wisconsin, Penn State, and at Maryland all in a row. Iowa should be healthy and rested, NW should be banged up.

Which means Northwestern probably wins by 24 because nothing ever makes sense.
