They have underachieved so far,but the next 6 games(4 non con 2 con) will be telling as we get back some much needed players in Baer and Conners,so ill reserve judgment until those games are played
Facts can be so triggering sometimes.
by the time we get a great point guard, we won't have any good big men.You don't win a huge amount of games in college BB without a point guard...

Lick was a better coach and a better recruiter. He was only given two recruiting seasons to turn this around because his first season he was hired late and didn’t get a chance to bring kids in. His first class was the Mcabe and Marble class which Fran inherited . That class took us to the NIT title game. His second class he landed two 4 star recruits who ended up going to other schools because we didn’t give the time he needed. If lick got to year 8 we would have been sniffing sweet 16’s instead of being one of the worst programs in the country. What a reach!!!
Iowa played 7 or those 11 at home at Carver in all 3 of those season under Lick and played 0 Big ten games. In 2017 Iowa has played just 5 of 11 games in Carver and already played 2 Big Ten games this season.
And you are really reaching if you are trying to compare these 2 coaches..
Lick set Iowa back to days of Peach Basketball, so comparing the 2 is a ridiculous stretch!!
You’re going to you use an excuse about a guy that would be a gray shirt on any top ten program? Are you being serious? It’s an excuse when it doesn’t agree with your narrative, but a fact when it does. That makes sense.
Is it an excuse or fact that Baer was injured?
Now BASIC TOUGHNESS PLEESE.BASIC.Season will be Ok. Then get another PG and proceed.Starts at Top.Lick's first year he was 6-5 in his first 11 games. Outscored opponents avg of 11.18 points a game.
Lick's second year he was 9-2 in his first 11 games. Outscored opponents avg of 15.81 points a game.
Lick's third year he was 4-7 in his first 11 games. Outscored opponents avg of 14 points a game.
This year, Fran is 5-6 in his first 11 games. Outscored opponents avg of 5 points a game.

What is most troubling is this...Iowa has lost to road kill programs...and are in a hole self dug.
Perhaps Drake will be the watershed event of the season...
Do they have a PG?

Fran starts slow every year. He just hasn't been able to establish a roster capable of competing early since Marble's senior year.
We played Penn State at home and lost. It was kind of embarrassing. I wouldn't use that argument to say this season hasn't been horrible.Wait we played two B1G games in the first 11 in those seasons? Facts?

The difference being Fran has earned some rope based on the results he has already had during his tenure.
These posts are actually correct and funny if read sarcastically.
