Isn't he the guy who couldn't play most of this season because of arthritic hips? Pass.
He won't be at Iowa...or anywhere else in the Big 10. See below from a Detroit Free Press article.
...haven't spoken to other schools yet and would understand if U-M didn't want Spike choose another Big Ten school. Beilein was vocal in his displeasure about center Max Bielfeldt, who also wasn't asked back for a fifth year at U-M, spent his graduate season at Big Ten rival Indiana this year.
Beilein restricted Albrecht's release, preventing a transfer to a Big Ten school or any other school on U-M's current schedule in the next two years.
I do find this to be a bit confusing. Beilein told him he would not have a scholarship next year. And he's graduating. I thought graduate transfers could go anywhere. Is a release actually required? And what coach tells a player you can't play for me next year and here's a list of other teams you won't be joining. I like Beilein but the whole thing seems odd to me.

Then all we'd need is a Butch and Buster.Would be cool to have a guy on the team named Spike.
That's just dirty of Beilein. He won't let Spike play at Michigan but he won't allow him to play for anyone else? If I was Albrecht or any other player in that situation, I'd knock him the F out! 1 punch, right upside his jaw. Let him explain that to the local media. He won't be at Iowa...or anywhere else in the Big 10. See below from a Detroit Free Press article.

Rather go with who we have and let Bohannon get bigger mins and develop. Spike is who he is. He wouldn't be much help... If he was a sophomore with some upside maybe.. Not now. His ceiling isn't very high at all and more than likely he'll get hurt again he seems pretty fragile.
If I had a choice between Spike playing PG next year or Bohannon I would take Spike no question
I don't think Spike was a point guard, was he?? He will have one year left. Next year will be a rebuilding year for Iowa anyway, so why not play the young guys & get them playing time & ready for a run the subsequent years. Makes no sense to bring a guy in for 1 year.
Spike played Point Guard and if he can help the team next year I want him. We have no idea if Williams or Bohannon are D1 quality Point Guards and playing time doesn't always mean they will get better or turn into a quality player. Plus I think Connor will be Point Guard in 2017 so might as well find a player to fill the gap until he gets on campus
Just so I'm clear...You don't want Williams or Bohannon because you consider them to be fallback recruits. Doesn't that make Spike a fallback to 2 fallbacks?
