Hey Jon.....

Well thank you for calling me names! Thought we could have a civil debate but perhaps I should have tempered my expectations. Typically when folks start calling others names it means they have nothing substantive to respond with (I've done it a few times so I know!). G'day to you mate.

Since you pretended like being called a company man had no negative connotation when you referred to Jon in that manner, it is quite obvious you are less than sincere when you infer you didn't mean it that way. You meant it EXACTLY that way. Pretending otherwise just makes you out to be a liar. That isn't me calling you names; it's just a fact.

--------are you talking about the Orange Bowl win, the Doak Walker winner, Outland Trophy winner, 12-0 regular season for the first time in history, two top-ten finishes, a Rose Bowl, an historic, 22-play drive for the ages away from making it to the Final Four, etc?

Orange Bowl win over an overrated ACC team? Boy, I bet that win stayed at the top of the nations sports consciousness for all of about 24 hours.

How does a Doak Walker and Outland Trophy winner fit into the equation? This is about team results!!!

12-0 against the easiest schedule this side of BYU in 1984.....then we lose two (2) in a row, showing our ass to the world in the Rose Bowl....counting 2016, we went on to go 3-4 over the next seven (7) games.

So, what I am getting out of this, and you are not alone, is that you cannot be satisfied with a 12-0 regular season or winning the Orange Bowl. You have to make up some reason after the fact to be upset with those outcomes. All this, despite the fact that if someone had asked you if you would be happy with those outcomes before the season would have started you would have taken season's like that in a second in each instance.

Glad we could clarify things.

Regarding "execution".. Yes, obviously good execution is important, but answer me this: Why does Iowa's offense continually have sooooo much trouble executing? It's the same thing we're told every year. Just didn't execute.. Blah blah blah.

Well, why aren't these execution problems being fixed? Bad coaching/schemes/play calling, or just lack of talent at the skill positions? Both?

Defense seems fine.. Why is offense such a continuous issue with this program? A few rare exceptions, sure, but for the most part, our offense is the reason we're 7-5/8-4 instead of 10-2 or better.

For clarification, those weren't every single 1st down play. Just the times we handed the ball to a RB on 1st down. Iowa actually threw the ball (or tried to) quite a bit on 1st down.
My bad misread what ya had there. I was thinking surely there were more than 8 possessions as I wrote that but I did no homework to double check my knee jerk reaction to it.

Do tell me more about what EXACTLY I meant since you obviously know so much about me.
