Listening to your podcast....I heard you imitate in a snarky and whiny manner an Iowa fan saying "7-5 isn't good enough"....then you went on to say, that for "this team" it is. I will agree with that statement. But that is not the F'n point of all of the horse shit that has gone on for over a decade now.....because for this overpaid, stubborn, past his prime, coach 7-5 is NOT good enough!!! And wound't be at ANY other program in the nation that is concerned about reaching or maintaining their goal of reaching the "next " level...especially at his salary. All of the other coaches in the country making Ferments money are expected to have visions of National Championships....something Ferments has NEVER mentioned as a goal. His goal every year is to find out about his team in the preseason (Non-conference), and then to try like a dickens to win a watered down Big Ten West. And he gets away with all this shit because there is no other show in Iowa, and the media is worried about their F'n press passes.

7-5 sucks for the conference we're in. Seriously, win 3 cupcake non-conference games, then beat 4 bottom feeders in the conference, and you have 7 wins. Big deal.
If we were in the East 7-5 would be a good season. We have been spoiled by a bad division for years and it has made us think that our program is more than it is. As teams like NW, Minny and Purdue improve it will only get worse.

If KF didn't get involved with the offense I think we consistently win 9 games a year. Even with Greg Davis as OC. Cause I can see Greg implementing the rushing schemes we run.

Just think if we could have an AVERAGE offense, ranked around 60th, how many extra wins does that translate to? Instead since 2012 we barely break 90th

1 more win per year, some years 2 or 3.

when you misspell the coaches name you lose credibility and any perception of maturity. I was with you...then not

Don't bag on Jon, he's still reveling in what a great game he got to experience Saturday. Iowa football is fine, fans are whiners, and BF is getting an A this semester for his genius offense!

I frankly don't recall the context in which I said that, or even if that's exactly how I said it...or if I said it.

As for the 'horse shit' that has gone on over the past decade....are you talking about the Orange Bowl win, the Doak Walker winner, Outland Trophy winner, 12-0 regular season for the first time in history, two top-ten finishes, a Rose Bowl, an historic, 22-play drive for the ages away from making it to the Final Four, etc? You and I disagree on what is realistically attainable on a regular basis at this program...we disagree that Iowa likely has to pay along the lines of some of the better brand names, to have a level of success that isn't even at their level, because it's harder to win here, etc.

So that being the case, I'll just agree to disagree with you, and save us both some time.

Jon makes more money after losses because we all show up to complain so keep that in mind.

I am paid a salary, an am an employee of the company that owns HN. So I get paid the same regardless of the month...as for more traffic after losses, that is true...for a day or so...then the losses keep mounting, and people stop caring as much that year, so they stop coming...so, you would be wrong on two fronts.

Not all fans are whiners. Just some.

As for the play calling...

One of the biggest gripes I have seen from fans so far this season is how many times (numerous) Nate Stanley has overthrown wide open receivers who would have walked into the endzone had he hit them.

Chew on that one for a few minutes, and think it through...

And I can think of at least three passes to Noah Fant where Fant wasn't even looking because he was chipped off his line and wasn't aware that the 'time of play' didn't pause for him to get back on his route.

Or how many dropped passes Iowa has had in the past two games that got them behind the chains...etc.

Fans hate 'lack of execution', and I get that. But just because you hate it, doesn't mean that more often than note, it's THE problem.

Dropped passes has been a problem forever at Iowa. Why do our WR struggle so badly to catch a ball?

Is there any accountability? MSU had what, 3-5 true freshman come in and make a play ?

Where is Young? Falconer? Quarrels (sp?)

When our starters can't make a play why is it difficult to try someone else ? Is our playbook so complex that these kids can't learn it? Yet opposing defenses know what's coming ?

Every year our offense looks like we don't practice. It's a joke and it's why we are always going to be average under KF. Yes we got an orange bowl and that's great.

We also haven't won a bowl game since 2010

I'm wrong on the money, I spoke out of ignorance and made an assumption. But in regards to traffic I meant in regard to losses when expectations are high like this week. I know I check the board more often for venting topics.

Where is Young? Falconer? Quarrels (sp?) JM: Young and Falconer passed over by ISM, Smith and Easley

We also haven't won a bowl game since 2010 JM: Outside of the big bowls and playoffs, these things are just glorified exhibitions.

Actually if I look at all of the posts and the in game threads the biggest complaint amongst fans is the continuous running into an 8/9 man front time and time again. That has nothing to do with execution, it's got everything to do with inept play calling, game planning, and stubbornness. Chew on that for bit...

When AW parrots the word execution over and over and looks disinterested in talking to the media, I think that's an indication of what he thinks. From what I gather, AW was pretty pissed off about the game plan at MSU and the predictable result of such a sophomoric coaching effort.

Last point, execution falls on the coaches. We've had how many hundreds of players come through Iowa and quite a few that go into the NFL and I'm led to believe that the garbage offensive production is because the hundreds of players across numerous years and teams are the problem. Hmmm...only common denominator with all of those players and teams is KF. At some point we should be honest with ourselves -- we know what the problem is. If your players are consistently unable to execute you either need to change the scheme and adapt to your personnel or recruit players that can execute in the system. Dude makes 4.5 mil a year to have his players ready to execute on saturdays. He and his newly hired, inexperienced OC ain't getting it done.

Furthermore, I guess lack of execution is to blame for the disaster audible packages this team runs too? You know, the ones where we make the change and the D lineman and linebackers point to where the play is going. Is that execution too?

They run a lot of dummy audibles. You and I don't really know which is which, nor does the defense. Also, with a true soph QB, a new offensive nomenclature from last year to this, th audible list is going to be much smaller than it will be in 2018 and 2019
