Here is what's going to happen tomorrow.....

Because of the criticism he's faced, and because of NW's poor pass defense, Kirk is going to unleash Vandenberg and the vertical passing game. Look for 3-4 TD passes and 300+ yards from Vandy, as Iowa wins easily.

Never give up on Kirk. He'll get the job done, just like he has in the past.

I don't doubt Ferrets can beat jNW when he's backed into a corner and forces his hand (this usually takes way to long to occur). However, if we do beat jNW expect us to immediately fall apart against Indiana in miserable fashion.

Unfortunately, I don't believe the lack of production has been because of KF holding things back.

You say that as if it's never happened. I'm still waiting for the Pitt game like breakout. I may be waiting awhile, but it could happen.

It may be the same name on the front and back of the jersey, but it is not the same. I still just don't think it is possible.

And then at the post game press conference, Kirk dedicates the win to the db that called in and told him to go to Cleveland.

Maybe JVB will actually see when guys are open and when they are not, but I think Iowa needs to run for 200 yds tomorrow to have a chance.

He will unleash him in the 2nd half when the hawks fall behind by 3 scores - but not before. It's about process you know.

This would be the correct answer.

It'd be a perfect time for him to match the 3 TD's that he's thrown for in the first 7 games. Bit of a long shot, and unfortunately out of his 0-5 yard confort zone. I'd be thrilled with one TD pass, but I think the ground game is the only real chance we have offensively.

Yep. Whether by intent or merely well-timed good fortune, there's a pretty solid history of encouraging (even winning) performance that beats back the critical heat, only to be followed up by regressive reality.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me over and over the last 6 seasons, not any more, Corporal.

So playcalling has had nothing to do with it? This isn't all on JVB. KF is the head coach and he controls the playcalling.

Sure playcalling has something to do with it, but there have been open recievers down the field all season and JVB is scared to throw it to them, so why does that stop now?

On 3rd and 8, not all the recievers run 2 yard outs, that is just who Vandy decides to throw it to.

With the injuries at the CB position with NW there is a small chance this may happen but it's a stretch at best as I'm not sure the Hawks have receivers that can go deep. Cotton to me seems to have the speed but not sure hes even cracked the 2 deep yet? What about the OL, will they be able to replace the left side that has been the bell cow for when the Hawks need 3 yards? Too many questions that are out of Kirk's control and we all know what happens when he losses control things get conservative. This is on the OL and who ever the running back is when game time comes. We want to shorten the game with NW and throwing the ball all over the place doesn't do that and it's not good for the D either. Lets just hope that Weisman is ready to go as he will be close to home and wanting to impress.

But then gets bailed out as a hot route due to the blitz. Sorry but this makes me laugh everytime I hear it.

The "Pitt game breakout" you refer to will never happen again while JVB is the starter.

Why?

Because Pitt sat back, put zero pressure on JVB, and let him get hot and pick them apart.

Now that teams know that JVB can't handle even a slight amount of pressure without completely unraveling, and that two of our starting linemen are gone...our ability to win even one more game hinges on the health of Weisman and our defense.

I'm with you. JVB has amazing physical abilities. He's had a couple rough games, probably something going on with his diet. I see an amazing snap back this weekend. He will have an amazing mix of both 5-10 yard hits with 35-40 yard hits. He is going to light up the field. I can't wait. He will finish the season with such a surge he'll get invites to pro camps.
