Any chance I could catch the show online, Jon? Doesn't need to be live.
It's really only been 3 years? Seems like a lot longer, but that's probably because they didn't take long to make it an elite network, and it's run smoothly from Jump Street.
I hope that you have Herb and Lou's on speed dial so you can snag some pizza in West Branch as you make your way to Chitown and back. Travel safely! Chicago driving is the worst. Also, please run some smack at those dudes on Friday Night Tailgate because they are not funny! I think the BTN should hire Trey Stross as a sideline reporter, so I can hear Wayne Larrivee say, "Now, down to Troy Strause for a sideline report!" Lastly, enjoy the Rotel Salsa. I enjoyed watching those nacho recipes from around the Big Ten on Friday Night Tailgate.
To borrow the words of Paul Rhoads, with a tear in his eye:
"I AM SO PROUD...THAT YOU ARE REPRESENTING IOWA ON THE BIG TEN NETWORK!"
No way am I driving to and from Chicago 30 times this year...flying in and out same day
-I can't begin to tell you what a first class operation the BTN is...the studios are state of the art, the control room is out of this world and the people are some of the best in the industry at what they do...even the makeup specialists used to work on the Oprah show

Any Charissa Thompson sightings yet??
LOL. Nah. I am not sure I would be able to recognize her. I really don't pay attention to that stuff.
Let me help you out.
Somebody was retelling the 'rough' early days stories today in the BTN offices.how there was so much fighting between the cable companies and the BTN...and how very few radio shows or media outlets let the BTN explain their side of things...he then pointed at me and said 'Except for you. Looks like that didn't hurt you any.' and he chuckled.
At that time, I gave a BTN Exec a standing offer to come on the show whenever he had 'news' back then, and he took me up on that a few times. I just felt like the BTN was going to be great for fans, of which I am one.
Fast forward three years later, to last month, the day I auditioned for the show but just before the auditions and I had no idea how I even got the call to audition for it,...I saw the same Exec in the BTN offices and said 'Yeah, I am here to interview for The Pulse. Not sure how that happened.'
He smiled and said 'Well, if you don't do well, then I won't take any responsibility,' laughed, and walked off.
Moral of the story for the youngsters out there: don't be afraid to plant seeds because you never know when you will have a chance to reap the harvest, and never burn a bridge
