Hawks cant handle illinois fans in carver

Dudes an ISU troll... pfff This is as much internet ink as I'm wasting on him
It’s funny because if you go to the very beginning of his post history, he acted like a Hawk fan. An idiot Hawk fan, but a fan nonetheless.

He then morphed into an ISU fan. That takes a special kind of mental defectiveness.

Um, I kind of see what you are saying, but don't you think expending federal resources to prosecute a student pep group who itself is a registered charity, all for trying to sneak into a rivals BB game in mass and at a slightly discounted rate might be a smidge overkill?

This was pretty harmless. They got caught. Now they are out bus fare. I think Karma has been satisfied and there is no need to throw a bunch of 19 year old kids in the pokey for a college caper. They are kids. Hell, I am impressed a bunch of Gen Zers had the industriousness to almost pull this off. :)
If you take the time to read his whole post, @okeefe4prez doesn’t mention sending the Illinois shit stains to the cooler.

In fact, he says in jest that if he were the district attorney he’d just send them a threatening letter and force an embarrassing apology on them. I think that would be beautiful. A bunch of trust fund babies going to business and law school on mommy and daddy’s dimes threatened with a felony that would keep them from ever working in a bank or practicing meaningful law, forced to grovel like a bunch of slack-jawed proles.

Hopefully the whole story gets out to the media about the misrepresentation of a charity. Initially, outlets were running with the whole "Iowa is scared" story and it gave a lot of shade on Iowa. If I was Illinois, I would either put a statement denouncing this group and any association with it. I would also think somehow sanctioning them would be smart too.

As O'Keefe mentioned, there wouldn't be a jury or judge in the world that wouldn't lay the hammer on this group for their actions. Also, if the public finds out, I would also think this is not a good look at all. But as mentioned, it's a bunch of dumb college kids doing dumb things. Not sure the feds would take much interest.

Of course it's overkill, but the US Attorney Office in places like Iowa has basically three case types - medicare fraud, drugs, and child porn. They need some variety to spice things up. Our society is replete with fraud, corruption and grift and letting these kids know that they committed, and supposedly confessed to, a federal crime would be a societally beneficial action. Kids affiliated with that group are going to go off and work for healthcare providers, government contractors, consulting firms, accounting firms, investment banks, etc. someday and they need to understand that shit like this is no bueno.

Reminds me of a great song by a great band. 18 and Life by Skid Row. Taught us that a fvckup at 18 could put you in jail for life. Our society is moving toward a "consequence free" society that is soft on crime and sending a message to these shitheads would be great. Just because law and order has been abolished in Illinois doesn't mean the fine folks in Iowa have to tolerate their lawlessness.

Orange Krush, scumbags, same thing.
I put them on par with the Stanford band.

But, to Iowa's defense, I think it's fine to cancel and refund it because how the ordered them representing them as The Boys and Girls club, which is quite shady and wrong. They deserve to get cancelled.

Exactly this. "Hey guys, I heard you lined up a bus. Great, why don't you come to Iowa City and pick up trash along Highway 1 during the game and then drive back to Champaign?"

The 19 year old gal who goes to St. Ambrose is also a dumb college kid doing dumb things and she got arrested for saying she had cancer and soliciting donations online. The Illinois case is even worse than that because when you get discounted tickets (and likely also evade paying sales tax) you are stealing money from the government. I truly fvcking hate people who rip off charities and the government. Absolutely loathe them. Though it happened almost 20 years ago I still think Brian Ferentz should have a lifetime bar on employment at Iowa for that shit he pulled to get into Section 8 housing. No matter how you slice it if you steal from a charity or the government you are an absolute piece of shit who is taking money away from people who may truly need it.

So, HN’ers…

Do I ban @scott50322a now, or wait for him to come back and try to give us some smoke?
Ban. While I might enjoy responding to his post, history tells us that when our neighbors to our SE get called out for shady behavior, it can come back and bite us in the ass. The dude isn't worth arguing with...........

It's kind of funny when you think about it. Taking a felony situation and turning it into a mere learning point for youngsters. Ha.

Yea, forget about really prosecuting the kids. What Iowa needs to do is put the light on the U of Illinois and make them an example in the national press. That would be embarrassing for a university to have to deal with, because of one of their student organizations.

Someone needs to get this story out to Dan Patrick to discuss in a segment on his show. I mean, isn't that "wire fraud", which is a federal offense? I think that is the law stated OK4P above.

I was at a Menards about two weeks ago and had the audacity to pay cash. You should have seen the college aged kid 1) give me the look and (probably connected) 2) try to figure out change.

I was nice and didn't ask to speak to his supervisor. I do have the power, however, to not give them any of my business for a while

Iowa would have all the media leverage in the world and Barta would still find a way to screw it up. It reminds me of the scene in Up In Smoke where Sgt Stadenko orders one of his men to shoot the tires and instead of shooting Cheech and Chong's van the idiot shoots the tires of his own squad car.

They bought the tickets in October.... dont you think the rejects that run the ticket office should have done their so called validations when they issued the tickets? Either way, the rest of the college basketball world is laughing at iowa athletics. .. ..
You are often wrong and troll ish but this is a new level of nonsense even for you. Bye Bye.
