Hawks a No. 1 Seed in NIT

Then quit posting if you don't care. No one shares your douchebag opinion.
Thank you for beating me to it!!

Go Hawks!!

Hope to be in CHA to cheer them on. Before the season started not many gave them a chance for post season play. First four out and #1 seed in NIT is an accomplishment for a team that continued to improve all year.

I predicted Iowa would be a NCAA bubble team, but I got it right for all the wrong reasons. I can't really pat myself on the back for that it didn't play out at all like I expected.

As for next year I expect 20+ wins before the BTT even starts. The bubble was so weak this year and I don't expect it to be that way next year so where that puts Iowa.......I don't know.

Fran had an NCAA tournament level team this year. Unfortunately Cook/Jok injuries and two double OT road losses with questioble officiating were the difference.

I'm excited for this program going forward. I would like to see a couple runs at the B1G title. Other B1G teams are building teams and have a lot of young talent as well.

Agree. B1G is loading up with young talent. Going to be some really strong teams in the next few years. Iowa is going to be one of them. I've got some really high expectations for the next 3-4 yrs.

I didn't quite expect to see us as one of the first four out making us a one seed in the NIT. No reason not to take it as a sign of respect and a significant accomplishment for a freshman dominated team. The Hawks can relax and flush the bad loss in the BTT. We might just get a re-match with the Hoosiers in the NIT championship.

Who cares....I'm sick of this shit. 20 years ago, we would have been calling for Barney Rubble's head...now, it takes 10 years to prove yourself as HC. This is bullshit!!!!!!

What coach has had 10 years to prove himself? Fran? If that's who you're referencing, you're not good at math.

In his first six years, he brought the team to three NCAA Tournaments in a row for the first time since '91-93. He took over the program when it was in the absolute crapper after Lick. It was way worse than when Alford or Lick took over. Way worse.

Would we like to see Iowa do better? Yes. We all would. But I think most of us realize where this program has been and see some hope for the future.

You need to find some perspective. You clearly don't have any.

Did lick get 10 years? NO. He couldn't produce so he was canned in 3. If Fran wasn't producing he'd be out too. Too bad his success hasn't fit your narrative.

I agree. I would never have thought they would be so bad at the beginning of the year and never thought they would be so good at the end. The end product was the same but when you factor in the injuries to the two best players and the screw job at Minnesota, I would say the season was better than I thought.

All I know is these games better be sell outs. Iowa needs to keep building their basketball brand. Showing out with a packed house is a must. I will be there. I better not be alone.

If tickets are priced like they were last time, crowd will be awesome. It's the 1st chance for many who are involved w/ HS hoops all year to go to a game.

Considering how young we are, and the fact that we didn't miss a beat when Jok was out, the future looks very bright! We have a lot of good young talent coming in the next 2-3 years. Fran is building a winner

Playmaker you just keep putting the bait out and reeling them in,is there a limit on how many you can catch.

Roughly 20 years ago we DID run a head coach out the door who was getting us to the dance on a regular basis. We then ran his replacement, who was getting us to the dance on a regular basis, out the door. (Rightfully so on the second one if you ask me.) We then had to suffer through the WORST period of Hawkeye basketball in my lifetime. We're just now getting our footing back and you want to get rid of the coach?

Go troll somewhere else .. ..

GO HAWKS!!!

Not likely to happen. I live over a thousand miles

I've been a round watching since Lute Olsen so I am assuming you are referring to Raveling and Davis? Am I correct?

I have high expectations for this program and I hope no one has taken some of my comments out of context. I've said that in two years we should EXPECT an excellent team based on recent recruiting and the freshmen we have that will be juniors in two years. However, if we are still talking about the NIT next year and the year after that, then it is only fair that tough questions be asked.
