Hawkeyes Offer Juco RB

i've been trying to find that as well - what would have been his original class? '09?

I think this is him:
Aaron Harris Football Profile - Granite Hills 08-09 - MaxPreps

College Football Recruiting: Top 10 Junior College Recruits for 2011 | Bleacher Report
From an article in 2010:
"Aaron Harris, a 5‘10 200 lb. running back originally from Granite Hills High School in California, is an explosive athlete with track speed.

Harris is rated as a four star prospect by both Scout and Rivals and is considered by both to be the top Junior College running back prospect this year.

Harris broke multiple SWC rushing records during his freshman season at Southwestern, rushing for over 1,000 yards and scoring 14 TDs."

Some inference of U of Cal getting interested in him as well as of late. Hope our story is strong because they have a very reputable and noted RB coach. An opportunity to play in warm weather and closer to home wouldn't help either.

Need to close him on the visit.....if he makes it.

Um what about the chance to be the next M Lynch, J Best, or S. Vareen, or J Forsett, or even freaking Sofele? Lets face it, Cal has name backs that make it to the NFL. Iowa has had one since these kids have known anything about football.

If Cal wants him, it is no contest.

By the way, it's just Cal.

Um also there's those number one public university and Tedford's offense is freaking perfect for him things too. If course you could also bring up looking over SF Bay instead of the Iowa River.

Love Iowa, but went to both schools and it is NO contest.

That being said, if he is concerned about ease of graduating and way less studying and homework, Iowa has Cal beat, hands down.

Bringing Cal guys into Iowa during January and February doesn't exactly help our image - whatever it may already be. Cold, gray, snow, barren landscape and dingy campus must be inviting to lifelong Californians with in-state offers. No negative recruiting necessary as you glide in over the frozen tundra to the CR airport and yes that is the whole airport Aaron. If this kid signs with us, KF needs another raise. Now what are the rumors with Garmon and qualifying?

As far as I know, there are no rumors. At least, there's not a peep over at the HR free boards or the scout free boards.

we finally agree on something! :)

iowa has it's work cut out for it - iowan's think IC is great, but once you get out and look around a bit, it's a tough place to recruit to, given other options as you point out....

Did someone hit fast forward on the video??

If this is a serious question, the answer might be yes. It's become a common thing in recruiting. Fast forwarding the tape for running backs and receivers is more common among high school kids, but Jucos probably do it too. You have to realize that these kids have the video highlights put together for them, and they have some control. They can put the tape on a x1.1 speed or something like that, making them look much faster. My college team recruited a kid to play receiver and his high school film was unreal. We learned that he sped up the tape though. He ended up quitting for what it's worth.

The thing about it though, is that it truly makes the prospect look faster. But it makes everyone look faster. I've also heard that really good editors can speed up the tape at specific times, when someone is breaking away down the sidelines...then it becomes fast-forwarded.
