Yes, if you look closely you can see improvement with woody. It's there. Watch and see

I don't know, does Gabe attempting more free throws mean he's a better offensive threat than Woody? I think Gabe's offense is limited to just under the basket (except for that one jumper in the Michigan game?) Can Gabe shoot the baby hook? How many short jumpers has he tried? If you were the Iowa coach, is that enough to warrant a limiting of Woody's minutes.. if you want to win?
As for gabe v woody:
How about a 2014-15 rotation that includes BOTH at same time? With Whitey and Uthoff as 3-4s and game as occasional 4. Talk about a tough zone that would be....
Why Fran played Gabe so much more in the Illinois game is what I want to know. Fran played Gabe 26 minutes and Woody the rest (14 minutes). Woody was never in foul trouble. Woody didn't seem to be injured or in a disciplinary 'time out'. Their season stats are pretty equal in most catagories. I'm not attacking your post, dude.Never said he was a better offensive threat. You just asked what he was better than Woody at and I gave you an answer.
In one threat I'm defending Woody... in the other I'm defending Gabe.
Why can't we just appreciate them both. It doesn't have to be Gabe vs. Woody. They are centers.... plenty of minutes to split between the 2 and both bring unique talents to the game.
They both average around 16 minutes a game, 6 points a game, 4-5 rebounds.
Woody is a more grounded anchor defensively. Gabe is the shot blocker.
On offense, we can run our offense by feeding Woody in the post where Gabe is more likely to get rebounds and put backs.
Twin towers isn't a bad idea. IMO, Iowa would benefit with a truer 4 somewhere in its lineup. But the other way around. Woody as the 4 and Gabe as the 5. Woody seems to be a little more reluctant in playing to contact than Gabe.I really think we will see them on the floor together a lot more next year. There might be some spacing issues offensively, but Woody is a good passer out of the high post and Gabe has shown a decent stroke especially in the short corner on the baseline. They are both elite offensive rebounders so having them in there together would lead to lots of second chance points.
By how much is Gabe a better rebounder? Do you have any stats for a comparison?

I think Josh will keep expanding his role this year, but more so next year when Dev is gone. He's actually a pretty good player who I think some will be surprised by next year with what he does.
I am a 'little' bit concerned with the timidity of Jarrod Uthoff. Hopefully he'll develop a mean on this offseason and more of a 'take charge' attitude.
