Have you EVER seen a team make this much progress?

NO fan base has shorter term memory than that of Iowa. I still remember hardly ANYONE saying one negative thing after Ferments got his last 10 year deal....all because of his once every 6 years Vegas like smoke and mirrors act. Again, tap on the brakes.

LOL, yeah right as evidenced by your highly respectful and pleasant "ferments" comment. Listen I've been all over these message boards and although I comment way less than I used too I have a really, really good gauge on fans and how damn stupid they are and Iowa's are right there with everyone. After Iowa beat Wiscy their fans were screaming about how awful Gard was and how he needs fired...as soon and Big 10 champ PU loses in the Big tourney or in the NCAA;s their fans will scream about how terrible a coach he is...that's what Iowa fans sound like, they are disrespectful, dimwitted and lack any perspective or appreciation whatsoever for how hard it is.

I take solace in the fact that anyone with a brain can tell they are clueless and make very little impact in their own lives so they have to come here.

On the other hand it is difficult to watch a football team with a 5-10 million dollar a year coach, unable to break the century mark in passing yards... To be troubled by such ineptness and futility doesn't seem to be unfair or misguided does it? I think not

Rev I've known a lot of minster's in my life and none as bitter, critical or judgmental as you...I've missed you hostility. Where is your church I'd like to visit your facebook page...

--------He thinks the Cowboys are elite after a divisional championship but losing in the playoffs for 20 years.

WHAT....never said that!!! The Clapping Carrot at HC, makes me almost as nervous as Ferments!
since you qualified your statement with "almost" instead of fire Jones' yes man HC it proves my point.

That and you declaring that Iowa's 12-0 west division championship and choking in the post-season of 2015 was an outlier while Dallas' 13-3 eastern division title -- an outlier season -- and losing yet again in divisional round playoff game -- a common Dallas choke job -- is your idea that "(the Cowboys) are back."

Dallas was once an elite franchise. To be "back" they have to regain elite status.

Go ahead and explain how not winning a divisional round playoff game for 20 years equates to being back at all, much less to elite status.

Yes. How does progress about the basketball team have anything to do with your envy of the football coach or the ineptness of the passing game.

Notice there's no question mark. It's rhetorical.

**deep, deep sigh**

Cook is playing at a different level.
Baer can't miss from 3.
Jok is getting healthy.
JBo will burn you at least a couple times a game and so will Ellingson.
Pemsl converts when given an opportunity.

The rotation has been figured out and guys understand their role and we're healthy.

My only slight issue with the rotation is that I would like to see Moss get back in. Ellingson played probably 13-14 straight minutes. I'd let him go 9-10 and give the 3-5 minutes back to Moss and have another wave of a fresh guy coming at the other team.
Agree. Moss needs minutes.Has skill.

No envy of football coach...just gets frustrating

No facebook...that's how the government gets you

Have a great day!

The defense back in November and December was just downright awful. Some of the worst that I can remember out of Iowa. While there is still improvement to be made, they have come a long way since some of those non conference games.

They even battled back after that bad loss to Illinois at home. Things look very bleak for the NIT then and look at where they are at now.

Props to the kids and the staff. These guys have heart.

and there were a TON of us on this board that pleaded to peeps to be patient. That most of these guys were the best player on their HS teams going against inferior competition and never had to play real defense in their lives. That kind of development takes time. They don't have it all figured out yet either, but imagine how much better this team can be with another year of development under their belts?

One of the youngest teams in the nation too. Each game is going to provide more and more experience. I'm just glad they are going to get a chance to play in some sort of post season play. Of course I want the NCAA Tournament but at worst they they should get a NIT home game.

I really love how this team has shown they can win even without Jok. Granted he is a very important piece but Iowa weathered the storm when he was hurt and the times when he's been in foul trouble.

I've very excited for the future and am enjoying the heck out of this season. Just keep winning Hawks!

Will you ever be happy. I suspect you wouldn't like any coach at Iowa. I have to ask some people, why choose to live such a bitter life? Why choose to live so negative? Life's too short, IMO.

first time Iowa has won 10 games in the B1G in 3 straight seasons since the early 80's - if you don't think Fran is getting it done here at Iowa and is the right guy, that's a you problem.

I am HOPING he is the next Thad Matta. OSU (and Matta's health) down a bit.

"Build it and they will come"--now FM has built some success, and recruiting starting to pick up. Future looks bright!

Moss will get more minutes down the road and will possibly be in the conversation for an all BT team spot. He is a freak of an athlete and his outside shooting combined with his ability to slash will mature. Pemsl: You may disagree, but he may be the most athletic player on this team. I know he does not have an outside, even medium range shot at this point, but good grief, have you watched him run the floor corral the ball and drive through the lane for a layup? He also makes some loose ball plays that are not only highly aggressive, but also just crazy coordination examples. His body control on offense and ability to go with either hand, use "English" on the ball to complete the play are just about weird. I would love to see Dom hit that point where he realizes he is a senior and this is his last go around. We have seen that movie before with other players and maybe that will be the case with Dom.

I thought Fran starting our "second senior" on Sunday was just an absolutely classy move! The other kids loved it, and the fan support shown for this young man was heart warming. This was the "Iowa way." This kid will go far in the future. He was even classy enough to recognize that his playing time with Iowa was likely over with the talent in house and coming in next year. No bitching, no whining, just "I may go somewhere that needs me next year."
