Fran's coaching ability isn't included in the 10 commandments...no confessional required.

That said, the greatest improvement I see is in the fundamentals...defense, boxing out, helping out...unlike last year's team...Iowa has a bunch of shooters who love to, and can shoot...

Nice win...thanks for all your work seniors...

Very good ball movement and crisp passing since the Illinois loss. The defense was a little leaky early but buttoned it up today. They are fun to watch and I love the energy inside by all the big guys.

You forgetting. 341st youngest team in all of D1 basketball? That might have something to do with it.
 


Its amazing what Fran has done with this Hawkeye basketball program. He's on the verge of taking a group of underclassmen to the NCAA tournament. Even if they don't make it, the fact that we'll all be watching the selection show next sunday living and dying with each bracket announcement speaks volumes.

Also, this team has showed on several occasions that while Jok is their leader and primary scorer, they don't NEED him to beat other teams.
 












Cook is playing at a different level.
Baer can't miss from 3.
Jok is getting healthy.
JBo will burn you at least a couple times a game and so will Ellingson.
Pemsl converts when given an opportunity.

The rotation has been figured out and guys understand their role and we're healthy.

My only slight issue with the rotation is that I would like to see Moss get back in. Ellingson played probably 13-14 straight minutes. I'd let him go 9-10 and give the 3-5 minutes back to Moss and have another wave of a fresh guy coming at the other team.
 


NO fan base has shorter term memory than that of Iowa. I still remember hardly ANYONE saying one negative thing after Ferments got his last 10 year deal....all because of his once every 6 years Vegas like smoke and mirrors act. Again, tap on the brakes.

I know everyone is saying 2 more but I think we'll make it in with 1 more win. Finish the regular season in top half of conference,quality wins against top teams in the conference and 19 wins. Of course, that doesn't take the teams with .500 record winning their conf tourn.
