Has anyone cared about Iowa football since 2010? minus Beathard's perfect season?

i haven't cared about Iowa football since we lost to wisconsin in 2010 in the fourth via fake punt.... ever since then iowa hasn't had the same feel

it was cool to see CJ win the starting role and have an undefeated season and in the process saving KF from getting fired...

CJ single handily won the first few games that year until he got injured and still was a champ for taking a million unnecessary sacks and winning games....

Iowa has sucked for awhile imo... i pretend to be a fan since its a sin in iowa city to not give a crap, but idk how you guys enjoy watching this

i fell asleep by the way during the NW game lol

You’re pretending all right.

I also think of 2015 as Desmond King's perfect season.

2015 felt really wierd at the time becaise Iowa went on this seemingly magical run, starting out 12-0. But at the same time, I never really got excited, thinking, wow, Iowa really may be 1 of the best teams in the country. Probably because Iowa never played OSU, Mich, PSU or MSU during the regular season. So Iowa neverhad that 1 game to make you feel Iowa was really good. In 2002, you could point to the blow out of Mich but there was no game like that in 2015. Instead 2015 was a series of close victories over decent but not great teams. So 2015 just feels wierd even in hindsight. Maybe if Iowa would have beat MSU in the CCG, then I could spent 4 weeks talking about how Iowa mafe the playoffs.

2010, on the other hand, broke my heart. That year in the preseasin, I really thought Iowa was a top 5 team thst could compete for the NCG. Then it just fell apart, with 1 close loss after another. It was really painful.

This is the worst troll attempt I have ever seen. Does the name stlbadger ring a bell?
You know, because a poster posts something you disagree with that doesn't automatically identify that person as a troll. There isn't (or shouldn't) be such a thing as safe spaces on this board. Figure it out, just once (guess I'm a troll, too, huh?).

I care about every season. Iowa is close this year. They lost their 2 starting tackles.... its a cycle up season - Iowa is known to have them. If they don't have 8+ next season, I will be very concerned. This "does anyone care about Iowa football" sentiment is minority I believe. Sill a lot of butts in seats and eye balls watching games.

This sums up my feelings perfectly. 2015 was fun but that's the only good season we've had since 2009. Even 2015 came crashing down in the CCG/Rose bowl. Oh well. There are bigger tragedies and better ways to spend my money.

Close this year? In score yes. The wins were largely ugly. 8 wins next year? Losing Jewell and Wadley? KF has surprised more than once though.

The Wisconsin fake punt is often recognized as the turning point of the program. But since we didn't know that at the time it happened, why would someone have quit caring at that exact moment? We were still in the midst of a potentially great season. Let alone we still had a chance to win that game.

If I were to make up a fake, hindsight time I quit caring, I would say when we took a knee to go to OT against OSU.

There is no way to predict the years we will randomly win 8 coin flips.

Never mind..
I used to chew half an aspirin before each game (not literally). Now, I just don't care as much even though I care very deeply about winning.

What gripes me is some yahoo on the board who automatically criticizes a poster who criticizes KF. Iowa equals KF. KF does not equal Iowa. No transitive property, here, even though some posters think so.

Those are big loses no doubt, but I look more at what is coming back and the experience they are getting this season.

and yeah, I think Iowa's been pretty close this year. 2 OT losses and a last second throw. We also return 4 of 5 of our OL, Our Qb, all but 1 of our WR's, both TE's, 8 of 9 of our DL rotation, all our defensive back field. Our young RB's are getting worked into the mix. I am hopeful for next season. This is a down year, find a way to 6 wins and get the extra bowl practices.

This is just my opinion. You guys have yours and you're entitled to em. I reserve the right to get real upset next year, when I think there will be a lot of expectations on Iowa football.

Upset at the 'non-KF' portions of the team, no doubt.

ok....I lie, I was a big fan of stanzi, was excited about the missou bowl game, and had high hopes for Vandenburg

Even so, our defense hasn't been stingy for a long time. Defense was the only thing we had to hang our hats on really...because our offense has always sucked and we haven't had a receiver like DJK since DJK

every bowl game we have been too the opposing team puts up like 40... what gives?

You just lied again. We had McNutt for one year after DJK. :)
