Interesting article by Pat on the search for assistant coaches.

Funny part at the end about Greg Stokes and his daughter.

His daughter, Kiah Stokes, also is one of the top high school basketball players in the 2011 class. She led Linn-Mar to the Class 4A state title in March and has Iowa among her top schools.

However, Greg Stokes said he would not pressure his daughter to pick Iowa, even if he did join McCaffery's staff.

"I'd love to have her go there, but it's her decision," Greg Stokes said of Iowa. "I'd definitely like to have her closer than further.

"But with the interest that she's getting, I think she'll be successful no matter where she goes."

Um, sorry Greg, If you can't recruit your own daughter to Iowa, how can we expect you to talk the Harrison Barnes' of the world to stay in state? Timing sucks for him, I guess.

The fact that Alford and Lickliter never contacted Sokes ONCE when he said he told them he was interested in helping is alarming and shows the different mindset those two coaches had and what Coach Caff has.

Man I hope you are right. Im very hopeful!

It's a totally different ballgame though. As a dad, of course he wants his daughter to be happy. Part of that is having her choose the best fit for her. It's a completely different mindset than trying to recruit a kid to a program you have a direct hand in. Not sure it's fair to judge his ability to recruit on that point alone.

Alford was just too da_n "arrogant" & Lickliter just didn't "get it".
