Harbaugh is a tool

And not a very useful one at that.

What an idiot drawing attention to the OSU-Michigan rivalry where he generally hasn’t been successful.

He’s not wrong. Agree on the Tool but Urbs is about the biggest POS. No accountability, plays off like he’s some great guy. He’s a cheat to win f*ckface. So I’m this case Harbaugh is correct. On a side note f*cl them both just cause and go Iowa. Happy Friday peeps!

Is it okay if I kind of like Harbaugh? He is goofy and fun, and I think he is authentic (I don't think any of it is an act). I also think he can coach, as his NFL record demonstrated. His Michigan success hasn't matched his NFL success yet, but I still think he is upper echelon.

Just my opinion, but in saying “I don’t think it was anything that was new, or anything of a bombshell,” ... “It’s things that you all understand and have written about.” In my opinion it seems like he's doing nothing but taking a shot at Urban and recycling old news just to get it back out there for another round. IMO it's a douchebag move performed by one of the most prolific douchebag's in college football. And for the record I despise Urban and think he's a POS.

Just curious: of the guys considered upper-echelon coaches in college FB, which would you sincerely not want as a KF-replacement due to their douche-quotient?

For example, if Harbaugh wins at least one B1G title in the coming years, and KF retires after 2020, and the Hawks spend big to bring Harbaugh in, would you be totally pissed, or would you be excited because they spent big to get a big name?

Are there certain coaches you could just never get behind? I would say the Urb would be on that list for me, but I could totally embrace Harbaugh under those circumstances.

My #1, completely unrealistic KF replacement: Jeff Brohm.

My honest opinion is there are coaches that I like, coaches I don't mind, coaches I don't care for, and coaches I despise based on personalities and how they handle themselves. They may be great coaches, but there's something about them that drives me up a wall in addition to them simply coaching a rival or being "the enemy".

Of those coaches if they're coaches I don't mind or simply don't care for and they ended up being our next coach I may learn to like accept it. If it's a coach I absolutely despite I continue to support the program while biting my tongue or taking cheap shots at him along the way until he's no longer there. Don't have to be a fan of the coach to support the program.

Disclaimer: I'm an SCC Blackhawk alum and super fan and our last 2 coaches have come from Indian Hills. I've lived this conversation although I will add that neither of those coaches were coaches I despised but were close. It took along time to warm up to them and a lot of that had to do with the fact that it's a small town and you get to know them personally.

Name(s)?

If you want to win a NC these days you have to be a Scumbag. You have to cheat and exploit your athletes.

I also found he gave Ferentz a lot of respect and said nice things during the BIG 10 media days.

I don't think there's any question as to his coaching ability. He has a proven track record of success.

Other than that, I don't think he's well-respected amongst his peers. He has a long history of diva behavior and rubbing people the wrong way, and, his recruiting antics are creepy and self-serving (there is no excuse for sleeping in a recruits bedroom - ever).

I don't recall which QB it was that was in his draft class (it may have been Kelly Stauffer), that ended up as an analyst for either ESPN or the NFL network, but, he gave a scathing review of Jim Harbaugh about seven years ago or so. It was fascinating, as you rarely see one player call out other players for their personality. He relayed a story about when all of the draft's QBs were attending some type of pre-draft camp, and, when waiting for the bus, Harbaugh stood by himself and didn't interact with the other players. After a long wait, he became frustrated and announced that somebody like him shouldn't have to wait, so, he hailed a taxi and went by himself.

Then, there's other well-documented incidents, such as breaking his hand punching Jim Kelly, the back-slapping incident with Jim Schwartz, and, ragging on Michigan's academic standards and coaches before accepting the contract offer. Lloyd Carr, a good guy IMO, had nothing but scathing things to say about him.

You're more than welcome to like him, but, I'll pass.

Fun? Goofy maybe.

I have a friend who was grad assistant with harbaugh at Stanford and he said harbaugh was a complete douche. Everyone on his staff avoided him and he was hated by all the ancillary and medical staff. He said he no social skills and has no ability to relate to fans on a personal level and literally the only people he can interact with are his players.

He did a couple celebrity-golf-for-charity tournaments in Orlando a while back. He is definitely high-strung. Supposedly VERY competitive and puts tons of pressure on himself.

His remarks from B1G Media Days vis-a-vis Oliver Martin were a pleasant surprise. Maybe the way the Iowa staff handled the Rudock grad transfer rubbed off on him

My opinion is anybody but Ohio State. I hate Ohio State. I hope Michigan beats them every year. Meyer cheated, and so did Tresell. Michigan and Iowa do not cheat. I admire Michigan, but I have nothing but contempt for Ohio State.
That's horse pucky.

They may be more subtle about it and do it to a slightly more low key level, but if you think any program out there is clean I have a ski resort in Cuba to sell you.

Just like there are Iowa players who smoke weed, take booster gifts and money, and pressure chicks into sleeping with them. Every single D-1 team has plenty it. The difference is having players savvy enough to keep their mouths shut and stay discreet.

Iowa football and basketball together is a nine figure business. It has nothing to do with grades or school or graduation or sending your boy to that good man in Iowa City Mr Ferentz sir to turn him into a fine young man.

Don't kid us or yourself...kids want to play P5 football to get on TV every week, be hometown heroes, get the highest quality pooty tang on campus, have dudes stare at them in class, and for a small percentage to become millionaires--and if you aren't cheating you aren't trying. There's gold in them there B1G hills and players, coaches and athletic departments are gonna go after it. At the P5 level school is just a technicality; sort of like ISO is for a manufacturer...a bunch of bullshit weighing you down on the way to your ultimate goals; one that you have to put up with and abide by in order for your business to play the game.

Pull your head outta the sand.

Everyone cheats, just to what degree, I had a friend who was friend with a football player at Iowa in the early 2000’s who waited tables in the off season at the river power whatever restaurant in IC. He’d work 4 hours a week and mysteriously would get $200-300 cash tips on $30-40 checks from boosters. It happens on every team, Iowa and Michigan included, probably more so in Michigan even.
