That's a guy I thought we might see of more this year sprinkled in. I sure was wrong. After he had a target in the bowl game last yr I thought maybe during bowl prep last yr the light mighta came on for him some... Well next yr he may be thrown in the fire to see what he's got

Read somewhere he was hurt recently and they shut him down for the year.
 
Seeing Kittle out there pretty much tearing up the NFL on a bad team no less has to have both these guys saying 'I can do that' Kittle should have been drafted higher than he went too and I would imagine both Fant and TJ would be 2 of the top 3 or 4 TEs taken. I can't see TJ going lower than 4th round. That dude still has some potential to get better yet as crazy as that might seem. If I'm a TE needy team no way would I pass on him past the 3rd round. Most likely 2nd

I like how I’m in “drama queen exaggeration mode” when you’re the guy who came on here and said ... “oh look guys, I was afraid this would happen”. The only exaggeration on here is that these players are leaving Iowa early because of the coaches gaff rather than because of their tutelage.

You saw it coming tho and have been worried sick.

They were absolutely wrong, but King was never going that high because the NFL cares more about their beauty contest than game film. It happens every draft.

Exactly. If the NFL cared about instinct or football IQ during the evaluation process, both King and Jewell would have been 1st-2nd rounders and Josh Allen would have been taken in the 6th.
 
Also, will both of their careers be over at Iowa after the Nebraska game, skip the bowl game? I would if I were them, why chance it in some lame bowl game? A lot of college players are now doing this. It's the "in" thing to do.

My guess is Fant for sure, I don’t think he can really hurt his status. TJ may benefit. This is going to be the new norm in CFB.

Hockenson will go as well I believe. He will have a better career than Fant will, even though Fant will get drafted higher because he will put up better numbers at the combine.
 
You never get very much for a signing bonus and guaranteed money if you are second round pick . You don’t leave early for shitty money . You leave early for first round money .

You sure? It can't do anything but help it. Guys already in the NFL succeeding. An offensive system that features the tight ends, especially in the red zone. How can this crush the TE crooting?

Well, we run a lot out of two TE sets and that's when Fant typically plays. On third down, we typically go to some shotgun/spread formation and Fant comes out. To be fair, they've tried to play him at SE and WR some, just not nearly enough.

I think we would have been better off playing Fant at SE or WR this year, as long as he plays every down. B Smith WR, Fant WR, Hockenson TE, and Weiting/Beyer TE sounds like a pretty good line-up to me. I bet Stanley would look really good throwing to those big targets.

The funny thing is King is very fast. His agent submitted (to GM's looking) timed video from 4 different games to show that King ran under a 4.5 several times in a real game with pads on. Most of them just can't get over the times a guy posts in his underwear. The Chargers knew he was good and were tickled that they got a 5th round steal.

I'm thinking that Stanley would find a way to over throw Yao Ming.
 
Fants “combine” numbers are great. He will prolly go early. Not sure about Hock. I think he comes back and lights it up next year
